Yep, it's back to reality for us M-F folks. I've got a difficult week. Trying to adapt my workstyle to a management style unlike any I've ever encountered. (I've worked with type A's before but this is different.) There will be a few difficult conversations this week and I'm going to do my best to stay positive and work hard to avoid the negative becoming rock bottom. It's a switch for me; I usually see worst-case and relief when it's not as bad, but I'm trying the other way around. Better for the soul.
Anyway, the kitties have cleared up Thanksgiving decor, and for a while they will have the cafe in standard decor - with lots of whites and off-whites and various assortments of flowers. Kitties offer comfort food today - anything that makes you feel good is here! There is even a treadmill over there overlooking a beautiful seascape or mountainscape, whatever you prefer, if you want to walk off the extra food you ate this weekend! Don't forget, cyber food has no calories and is the most delicious food and drink you've ever had!
Welcome!

Kit, good videos :)
Joan, crossing my fingers for you and the different management styles been there done that. I had to keep telling myself, I will try it their way (and wrote down notes on how they wanted things) and in my case they usually changed it after realizing that the change didn't work as well as they thought....or just had to resign myself to doing what they wanted. Good luck with this week, thinking positive thoughts for you.

Best of luck at work, Joan!
I just finished my morning shift and first dog walk of the day. I have about two hours till I've got to run and walk the dogs again and I think a nap is in order. Today is day two of no coffee and my head is pounding! The asthma and bronchitis meds are making me jittery do I figure I'll cut out the caffeine for a while. -
G'morning from grey and chilly brewtown to all still enjoying the comforts of cafe cuddling vs wurking! Yup, back at it for 5 days as here we go again! Hope you day improves Joan with your new 'tude! Paw up waves hi to GD, Kit & Deb! Me, need another cuppa joe to continue this fun. Wow, where's Tux? Aw, snoozing by the fireplace...smoochies for you kit, ok...later!

Hello. A slow start to work today, but I still need to look busy until my work load comes in.
Hang in there, Joan!
My cats sure had a good time with me being home for four days. But I got these resigned looks from them this morning as I was going through my routine to leave for work. They got lots of attention and loving for Thanksgiving.Posted 6 months ago by LadyKat of IA #

Morning JK, Ladykat, Kilroy and GD.
I need to write notes to remind myself to turn off my phone or put it in another room. Keep getting woken up by well meaning friends just after I get to sleep, I understand it though. Plus its chilly in the house and I don't want to turn the heat on just yet, too soon in the season for that.

Got some important work done and now waiting to see what else comes in. I try to look busy so the bosses don't think I'm just sitting around with nothing to do. I'll have work this afternoon, but nothing yet to complete this morning.
Slow today at the cafe...I imagine those who celebrated Thanksgiving and had time off are trying to get caught up and back into the routine.Posted 6 months ago by LadyKat of IA #

There were some cutie-pies over the long weekend! I almost missed baby Lila!
Friday was Black Cat Friday (and weekend) for the local shelters. I sure hope some of those magnificent black cats found homes. No, I didn't come home with one, but I threatened Leela and Comet that I would! There's room in my heart for one, but not so sure about the house.Posted 6 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Ugh, still can't sleep much even with enough pillows to keep my head up.

Ok, got thru the w-day but it's kind of like prolonging the agony as stuff can happen at any time. Keeping the right tude, though, which takes a lot of energy, but I'm sure it's worth it and it's best for me.

Hedy Lamar developed early wireless and blutooth technology. She found she was bored with Hollywood, so she invented things.
'Most Beautiful Woman' By Day, Inventor By Night
www.npr.orgOne of the biggest actresses of MGM's Golden Age also lived a quiet life as an inventor. During World War II, Hedy Lamarr invented a form of wireless communication that led to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and more...

Wow, I didn't know that about Heddy Lamarr! Very interesting, thanks Deb! Hope you're feeling better when you wake up.
Ugh, what a day! Hope everything went ok for you Joan!
Kilroy, I saw the end of Maltese Falcon! Gosh Bogie's good in that! Great movie.
GD, I saw the Amazing Race too! Are you sad about who got eliminated? I kind of am. I'm guessing the snowboarders are gonna win.
I'm outta here, so have a great evening all!

Hi Linda!! Bye Linda!! I love Bogie :)
I kinda, sorta knew that about Hedy Lamarr; I knew she was an inventor & had a bunch of patents, but I didn't realize they led to Blutooth and that sort of thing.
Mr. K & I just booked my last vacation from my current job; it's the same cruise we did last year but we're going earlier. Last year we came back on Christmas Day and then had a bunch of people over. That was a teensy bit stressful.

Evening all, I'm crawling into the Cafe as I'm exhausted. Today Airy and I sanded down Mums very old and seen better decades picnic table and the re-stained it. Not too bad a job normally but it was a cloudy & muggy day. When we returned a short time ago to do a final check we found that Snuggy the cat had reclaimed the table as 'her' spot to lie in the sun. She approves of the smoother surface and new colour. I'm so glad she approves.
Just relaxing before starting to prepare dinner.Posted 5 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
