Blue Buffalo Recall (Nov 2011)

  1. There have been many recalls and cases of humans becoming ill from eating ground meat, peanut butter, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. It is highly impractical for most of us to start growing and processing all of our own food. Same with our cats.

    I wish there was less importation from countries like China with rather little enforcement of safety. However, again, it is not practical for all of us to make our own cat food nor to make all our childrens' toys (Mattell recalled many toys in 2007 due to lead-containing paint).

    No matter how strongly people feel about what they feed their cats, we need to remember that it is still their OPINION and not a fact. Now when I start talking about the Flat Earth Society...LOL

  3. As long as we continue to deal with China none of us is safe. My former co-worker fed her dogs Eukanuba, the "Cadillac" of pet foods--they all got sick and one died (it was part of the recall due to Chinese-added melamine). I tried raw diet--none of mine would go near it, I gave it to the ferals who loved it. We do the best we can.
