The dog barks if he gets startled so if we come around a corner or something and all of a sudden there's a person standing there, he'll bark. He's wagging his tail while doing so and he's not aggressive, but he's a 92 lb long-haired German shepherd with quite the bark, so he scares his fair share of people. He also barks when we meet other dogs, so I try to turn around when I see dogs coming our way.
The good part about the snake story is, it freaked out his owner who is afraid as it is of walking them with all the lizards around so I doubt she's ever going to want to walk them now, which means I can keep walking them and making extra money! -
Thanks 2p. It sounds like it might start out freelance with the possibility of turning permanent/fulltime. Won't really know until/unless they get in touch.
Paws crossed. Oh, and I know at least one person who used to work here & now works at Reuters, so that can't hurt.

Hey everyone! Best of luck Kilroy with the potential job. Paws crossed! GD...EEEK! I am not particularly freaked out about snakes, but no one wants to be surprised by them. Hi 2P!
It snowed here this morning. Big fat wet flakes that melted upon contact. It has everyone in the Christmas spirit around here.

Kilroy, paws up on the job front....go Reuters!
GD, hmmm don't know about almost stepping on the two foot snake, closest I got to doing that was walking out my back door in Panama and having a coral snake under the doorway. Big dogs barking I suppose would be enough to scare people, my dau's Rottie will bark at most ppl. Like the GS you are walking she is a big dog and that intimidates most ppl.
PM, Hope that Pickles wound heals well. Red's back is almost completely covered over again and I can barely tell where the hole was, So in a few months/weeks she will be all pretty again where the wound is.

Evening folks. I find myself on the wrong side of insomnia yet again, and this time it has nothing to do with the rooster down the street. Wish there was a switch to turn off your brain, so all the useless thoughts swirling around would shut up long enough to fall asleep!

PM, about giving Pickle her meds - I dont know what the vet gave you, but they gave Tequila synulox tablets on Sunday for her abcess. The pills crush very well, and so far madam has been enjoying her little treats - she's gotten some fish paste, yogurt, fresh cream, fresh butter . . . She loves it and doesnt suspect a thing. Maybe you could fool Pickle too?

GD, you are far too polite. I would have yelled back. Why would anyone be afraid of a lizard though? I think they're cute!

Hmmmm, I'm not crazy about lizards, either, but certainly not to the point where I'd be afraid of walking a dog.
I wanted to yell back at the guy, but a) I figured he was probably mostly scared and b) it's such a small gated community that everyone seems to know everyone and I don't want people complaining about me and risking my job.I managed to leave work 20 minutes early tonight - so nice! Big Boss has a falling out with the organization that used to bring most of the fighters in at night so nights have been nice an quiet, it's a lot less messy, and I don't have people staying super late anymore. So I'm at home winding down with the boys. Well, I'm winding down, and they're wound up, watching Magic the black kitty and the tail-less kitty who looks like Bobby hanging out on the patio.

Well its my Friday or soon to be when I get there, thank goodness I need the time to rest without having to go anywhere. So will see anyone awake on the flip side of the witching hour, ta ta for now!
And wanted to mention that Sheldon (today's kitten) is so cute and love the rescue story about him.

Hey, Deb, how are you feeling tonight, is that crud getting any better and working its way out of your system? I am here for a little while, no proper work to do today, and it was a beautiful day, so I got stuck into cutting my monster hedge. Got one whole side of it done (it's about 80 or 90 feet long I guess, on the long side). Tomorrow I do the shorter side (about 25 feet maybe?) then I need to do all the inside and the top. If it doesn't rain, that is. But I am well and truly knackered!
My neighbour still hasn't turned up with any sheep to mow the lawn though, lol.
Yay for your Friday! Do you have anything nice planned for your weekend or just relaxing and throwing off that nasty cold? I am driving up the coast on Friday to have lunch with friends -- up KK's way, in fact, though my destination is further afield...
