Morning, Deb, I just posted on yesterday's morning cafe, so I guess I better post it again here....
Hey, Deb, how are you feeling tonight, is that crud getting any better and working its way out of your system? I am here for a little while, no proper work to do today, and it was a beautiful day, so I got stuck into cutting my monster hedge. Got one whole side of it done (it's about 80 or 90 feet long I guess, on the long side). Tomorrow I do the shorter side (about 25 feet maybe?) then I need to do all the inside and the top. If it doesn't rain, that is. But I am well and truly knackered!
My neighbour still hasn't turned up with any sheep to mow the lawn though, lol.
Yay for your Friday! Do you have anything nice planned for your weekend or just relaxing and throwing off that nasty cold? I am driving up the coast on Friday to have lunch with friends -- up KK's way, in fact, though my destination is further afield...

Evening ladies. Goodness me Jcat, that is one he** of a long hedge and a hard job trimming it back. You'll have muscles like a body builder by the time the job is done. I hope the weather is beautiful for your drive up the coast. we had a stunning day here too, I got heaps of things done out and about. I even got some shopping done and Airy and I bought a small train for $9 to run around the base of the Christmas tree.

Evening, MS, aarrrgh, Christmas shopping, don't remind me, lol, when I'm going to get that done, I have no idea! It is a very long hedge, it goes on forever, but at least it is not very high. There are macrocarpa hedges further down the road that are about 20 foot high! I think people must get machines in to cut them.

I'm glad the hedge isn't very high, that way you don't have to climb a ladder with sharp objects, or do you?

Hi ladies. I couldn't sleep & thought of TDK so here I am.
Jcat...we had hedges similar to yours here & hated them. We finally tore them out bcuz they were harboring big,ugly spiders in the summer & they would breed like rabbits. We were afraid we'd wake up some morning in a giant coccoon spun by the ugly buggers. lol. -
Good morning Feral, LOL about the spiders, you could write a horror story about that. Sorry you can't sleep but at least we're here to chat with. It's ten to midnight here and it's a warmish evening after a lovely hot day.

Hi, Susie, sorry you can't sleep. I do actually like my hedge (despite it's being privet, which brings on my hayfever), it keeps me nice and private and keeps out the wind and the traffic noise and it is a haven for wetas. I don't think I'd like it if it were full of big ugly spiders though, urrghhh! That would be a bit too much like being in an episode of the X Files -- and not in a good way.

Hi MS. Is it Thursday where your at? Aren't you a little ahead of us here If I remember right? I miss warm days. It's been burry cold here in Cali. The outdoor kits are even snuggling in their beds I made for them. Ms.Hissy & Naughty look headless when they're sleeping together. They tuck their heads under each other's bodies. lol.

I like wetas. I DON'T like spiders, lol. They have way too many legs and eyes and they bite.
Poor Deb, she does that, they must be running her ragged in there tonight.

Ewwwwwwwwwww wetas, I really don't like them Jcat but I know you do. Someone has to. I'm battling ants this evening, guess there must be rain on the way as the nasty little things have invaded yet again. The last two times I managed to lay bait for them.

Feral, we are now in Thursday by a couple of minutes. Awwwwwww, Ms Hissy & Naughty certainly know how to keep warm. HRH Shadz came inside a while ago, nibbled at her biscuits and then raced upstairs and is probably curled up asleep on my bed. With any luck Airy will kidnap here and take her for the night.

D-Earth gets sprinkled around the outside perimeter & that seems to keep the ants from coming in. Every once in awhile a scout or 2 will make it in but...squish...& ant no more.
Our dishwasher just decided to die this past evening. Usless refuses to buy a new one so I guess I'll be washing dishes by hand again. And we've had a leak under the house in that same area (he refuses to get fixed as well). So now it's starting to leak into the floorboard.
All I can say to him is...Stupid is what Stupid does when his floor collapses some day. Shaking head at the real catch I got when I met him 27 yrs.ago. -
Aargh, Miss Millie has woken up and is intent on destroying the computer and the desk, I may have to disappear. Ants are just a fact of life where I live Feral, I lay bait that they take back to the nest and that knocks their numbers for a while.
Sorry about the dishwasher giving up the ghost, I know what it's like doing dishes when you rather not. I've just got my first dishwasher in the last couple of weeks and I am enjoying not doing dishes.
Maybe Useless will realise he is well named when he falls through the floor.
Time for me to head to bed, I have an early start later this morning.

Thanks, Feral. I know that most jobs are found through networking so this is certainly a positive development.
I agree about the beagle video; I bawled when I watched it. Poor babies, but seeing them come out of their cages & then seeing how most of them had homes was wonderful.
