  2. Aww, she should be getting back to being cute any day now! I'm surrounded by terrible two year-olds at work. Some days I have trouble convincing myself that they will become human some day . . .

I just realised the people who live behind us have acquired chickens. And a rooster. So now we have 2 houses on the block with roosters. I dont get it - eggs and chickens are very cheap. Why oh why would you want them in your yard?? Unless you are purposefully trying to drive your neighbors insane??

  3. Lol Sky - my parents had chickens long ago. I don't remember them but the chicken coop turned tool shed stood for many years before succumbing to a flood.

My whoopie pie tin came in the mail yesterday, yay! Today I did some preliminary holiday food shopping and bought what I need to make a test batch of whoopie pies. If they turn out good, that's what I will serve for dessert. Last year I made ice cream sandwiches.

  4. .... evening everyone!.......... oh Sky, I can't imagine living near roosters crowing at all hours!............ thank goodness, living in an urban city, they aren't allowed, but I remember how it was in NC when the farm down the mountain aways had all kinds of chickens, roosters, goats, etc.......... I could hear those roosters everyone morning!........... at the sparrow fart hour, of course! LOL

.... Deb, the Amazon wish list is a great idea!........... I should really get my family to put their 'wishes' on there!........... would make it easier for me and my siblings to buy for each other's kids.

.... Joan, I hope the whoopie pies turn out great!... I've never attempted to make anything like that! but what a good idea!

.... making my Christmas menus this week........... I'll be cooking two huge family dinners - one Christmas Eve and the other Christmas Day........... with good planning, I'll have dishes that can do 'double duty'.........
