  1. Morning, Deb. It's 40 degrees here, headed for 53.

2 depressing articles in the paper today about people who lose their jobs not finding replacement work with equal salary benefits; I know there are exceptions to everything but it was just depressing on top of the completely useless job hunting advice session HR had for us yesterday.

Taking Georgie to the v-e-t this morning to make sure his urine's not crystalizing; we do NOT need another giant vet bill for bladder surgery, thank you very much.

Oh, and today at work I'm expected to do my self-evaluation, telling the company what a great job I did this year. I can't believe they're making us do them, but oh well.

Sorry to be such a bummer, but yesterday was another bad day.

  2. Morning Kilroy. Hope that Georgie is alright with his check-up, no you don't need another giant vet bill and he needs to be healthy.

That bites on the self-evaluation, don't know how I could do that with any kind of politeness after their own actions.

Hope that your day is much better than yesterday.

  3. Good morning Deb and Kilroy, it's a warm & wet evening or rather morning here and I've had the front door open all evening. Shadz is curled up asleep on Airy's bed and I'm headed off to bed now. Have a fantastic Friday everyone.

  4. Oh geez, Kilroy, that's ridiculous! Why bother to put you through that?
How about getting health insurance for him, Kilroy? It's only about $20 a month and would save you a ton if he were to need another surgery.

  5. Morning GD.

G'night Jan, sleep well and have sweet dreams in a HRH free bed tonight, scritches to her in the morning.

  6. I should have done that, GD, and I actually could have done it through work. Don't know if it would be more expensive now that he has a "pre-existing condition" so to speak.

I was just looking all over the apartment, opening closets I knew he couldn't be in, because I couldn't find him. Then Mr. K said, "look under the tree". There was my Georgie, curled up under the Christmas tree :)

  7. Awwww did you get a picture of him under the tree?

Posted 5 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  8. Might be able to do that right now Deb, hang on...

Posted 5 months ago by Kilroy #

  9. Awww, cute Georgie :)
Check out the insurance, Kilroy, you may be able to get him covered. Does the vet think this is something he is prone to? If he thinks it's a one-time event, they may cover him. I couldnt get Bobby covered for anything seizure related, but got him covered for everything else.

  10. How adorable, Georgie!

  11. Morning everyone!

Kilroy, I'd be tempted to say I was the best employee on the planet and deserved a raise....I have to be reviewed every year too, but there's never any money on the line anymore so it doesn't matter how much I do or don't do, except on my own motivation. I still do my best, because I take a sense of pride in my job, I can't help it.

  12. Morning Siobhan :)

$963 bill for the ER, didn't see a doctor, two steri-strips and a tetanus (?) shot....no labs and nothing else, how stupid.

Then there is the dentist incident...

  13. Hi everyone! Georgie, Shaddo would be so proud of you, claiming a spot under the tree - that was his specialty! I wondered about insurance for Leela too, since I've had her to the vet twice in 2 months, but I wasn't sure if they would deny me after looking at her medical records.
Kilroy, perhaps we could flood the PTB with glowing emails. You know, character references.

  14. Hi ALL!
FreezeDay is right....only 13.6 here! What the @&%&&%$$$?? Daughter in AZ was complaining yesterday about how "cold" it was....teehee, guess it is all relevant....if one is used to 100 degrees, the 50's would indeed seem cold!
    Awww, cute Georgie ♥
Wishing you all a nice day!!!

  15. Morning everyone!............. a balmy day today here in Fla.......... mid 70s, should be perfect!............... love the pics of Georgie under the Christmas tree, Abby does the same thing, except that she's very good about 'blending in' and being very still................ I can walk past her a thousand times, calling for her, and not even see her - not a peep!........... I call her 'stealth kitty'............. LOL

  16. Morning ladies :)

  17. Teeheehee....I get it, Deb! Daughter is coming home in 2 weeks....so we will have an early holiday....she has to go back the day before Cmas eve. I wonder how WI will seem to her...she thinks she wants to move back to be near her friends again...I told her she was nuts, lol. Even though it would be nice to have her closer. I wonder how my boys will be when all the decorations go up this year...last year, Rambo kept "untrimming" the tree and the ornaments would disappear.

  18. It is 18 degrees with freezing rain here in NM! Cold and slick day! I just cancelled the float in the Christmas Parade--temps are to low and I can't have kids out in that weather for all those hours. Frustrating, but at least the kids will be warm.

  20. SM, do you ever watch "Chopped" on Food Network? There was one that featured cafeteria cooks. One of the judges is a white house chef and the focus was on childhood obesity and getting kids to make healthy food choices. As many of us know, for many children, food served at school may be the only decent meal they will have, if they even have another meal. At the end, they brought out the participants, as well as their families, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house - even the judges were bawling. It really touched me.

Someday my heart will heal. I keep telling myself that and not believing it much.

Posted 5 months ago by AV #

  25. Hi Av...nice to see you during the daytime too! Me, need a warmer on my java for 1 more hour to go before lunchin' time. Aw, Georgie in the best spot yet this year with glow-eyes too!

  26. Hi all, checking back in with a Georgie report. His pee looks "awful" in the vet's words, so prescription food it is from now on. And the bill for today pushed the total for this little adventure right to the $5,000 mark. Ouch. Good thing he's cute :) I love the pictures under the tree; he always looks like the tree is sitting on his head.

I finished my evaluation & have to say that I won't miss having to do that every year :P

{{{JBBM}}} Can I join you in a hot chocolate?

Posted 5 months ago by Kilroy #

  27. Ouch $$$...Awww Georgie is a cutie and hope he gets back to ?normal on his new noms soon!
Mmm, hot chocolate mixed in with another cuppa joe will hit the spot for me to continue w/afternoon fun!
