Hi, Everyone! I have been AWOL because we were in Virginia for Thanksgiving to be with family and then had to be away this past weekend, as well. Tomorrow my book group will be at my house and so I have been baking and... well, I'm not a baker so I hope that it's not all a disaster.
But guess what????? IT SNOWED HERE LAST NIGHT AND TODAY!!!

I want snow!!!!
I will need it - I ordered the electric fireplace today that my friend had recommended! It was reduced $40 and then I googled coupons and found one for anothe 10% off, so it ended up being a really good deal. I'm thinking I'll let it be the boys' Christmas present, as well, as I'm sure they'll love lounging in front of it!
It was a snow day here too! Since I had the Angel Tree shopping trip and the Children's Home Christmas Party this weekend I used the day to do some cleaning!! I ironed a whole basket of my clothing--new wardrobe!! I even got to watch People's Court! AAHHH the simple things in life!
Great news about the job interview Kilroy. I'm sure there will be other offers come your way also.
WWM - you have snow! How fantastic. Good luck with the baking. You could offer them snowballs. ;-)

Snow days rock! Lately, though, it's been "schools are closed but the central office is open". It can get rediculous on the mountain - which is why I haven't used all of my vacation time. Many school districts around here have already used a few emergency days - between the September hurricane and the Halloween nor'easter.

It is the cold that is the problem--we are not prepared for this kind of cold--pipes bursting and such. We have ice under the snow--only about 2 inches of snow. Because of where I was born and raised I have dealt with snow, but here is a different subject--they have little ability to deal with it. So I will get stuff done at home!

EBL told me today that it's okay for me to take off the 24th and let BB's son cover for me at work. Since Christmas is on a Sunday, I wasn't going to get any extra time off at all, and I really need a bit of a breather (of course I'm dogsitting, but nonetheless). We always celebrated Christmas on the 24th when I was growing up and it's always felt wrong to me to work on that day.
Headed for bed now to try and get 6.5 hours of sleep. Probably won't happen as Bobby is being spazzy and I just took a puff from my inhaler so chances are I'll be too wired to go to sleep, but I'm sure going to try my best. Have a a good night/day, everyone!
