  1. Morning one and all, skipped on by and noticed that the Night Shift was missing so thought I would open the TGIF / Caturday (for the Southern half)Cafe. This morning the kittehs are doing buffet style with everything from old home favorites to delicious holiday foods current and of memories from past holidays. That would be puddings, pies, cakes, fudge, cookies, nice breakfast items as eggs cooked all sort of ways, bacon, ham, sausage, pork chops, steak, bacon, grits, home fries, hashbrowns, toast, tea, coffee, juice and anything else one can imagine :)

This was a surprise to Michael Buble during his concert when an insistent Mom wanted him to hear her 15 yr old son sing....

    Pot Plant Owl
So it's all systems go to attend the 'International Festival of Owls'. I hope I get to meet some of you USA PPO followers. Finding out about the award has come at the perfect time, as always. The day we found out, we also received an email from the Government Department who will decide the fate of 'PPO's wetland'. They person making the decision still has not decided, so has asked to have a meetin...g on site. I hope to share with her what the award is for, what it means to owls and to South African nature conservation in general.

This meeting will take place this coming Monday 12 December. Please all send positive thoughts for a favourable outcome that will ensure PPO, Pappa and their family remain with us, and continue to enjoy the wetland.

  6. Morning, all!
I'm lucky I made it into work this morning. Eventhough I set the alarm last night, I didn't actually turn it on! I usually get up at 5:05, and today when I woke up and looked at the time it was 5:24 - eeek! I leave at 5:30, so I was in quite a rush.

Was going to put the lights on the tree last, but couldn't find the box I keep them in :(

  7. Morning GD, hope that the rest of your day goes well and you don't have to rush about.

Posted 5 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  8. I always rush about :)
In the cards today is grocery shopping, buying lights for the tree, walking dogs three times, Christmas party at work at 3:00 (don't know how in the world I'll be able to make that!), and going with the handyman to pick up an entertainment center thing I bought the other day at Faith Farm that doesn't fit in my car. Oh, and work :)

  9. Sounds like you are really making your new apartment into a home, GD! Congratulations!

  10. I'm working on it, PJ. I got rid of almost all my things (which weren't many since I was in a small studio) when I had the bed bugs, and after that just got some odds and ends from friends, that I didn't bother to take with me when I moved. Both the living room and the bed room are pretty spacious in the new place and need a lot of furniture, so I'm buying it a bit at a time. I'm almost done with the living room now. The entertainment center today and then I'm waiting on my Christmas present to myself and the boys to arrive in a few days - an electric fireplace and mantle! Now all I need is an area rug and I'll be done with the living room. January I will try and tackle the bedroom which for now only has a mattress on the floor. I'm still trying to figure out what to do to keep the cats out of my sleeping area without completely banning them from the room.

  11. Hi! Rushing through to grab a hot chocolate. I have so much I want to get done today and through the weekend. I told Smudge and Chance last night what a blessing it was to have them lying beside me in bed where I can relax and pet them as we fall asleep.

  12. Morning all!................. nice morning here, I'd like a nice cuppa joe with peppermint cream, please!

  13. Morning, LK and AV. It's grey here, AV and looks like rain :(

  14. .......... *stares* at the ceiling whistling..................

.......... uh, I promise, the tutu has been in the cubbard for weeks now......... why, it's too cold to wear it right now.............. ;)

......... sounds like the apartment is coming along nicely........... can you train the boys to sleep on a certain 'favorite blanket'? ............ I did that with Abby, and now if/when she gets on the bed, she only gets on the blanket at the corner/foot................ I have identical blankets that I keep on the back of the couch and some 'favorite' chairs.............. that way, she knows where she 'can' nap, and where I don't want her.......... blankets are easy to wash too!

  15. Hi all! Today is the second day I managed to get up without the alarm. Yesterday the power had gone out during the night and the battery backup is apparently dead. Today I woke up early, watched an incredible moonset and rested on the couch till it seemed like time to get up. Can't stand getting up this time of year - it's too dark!
I'm in the mood for scrambled eggs and taylor ham with some chocolate milk.

  16. Howdy ladies! Retirement party yesterday for a co-worker suffering from bladder and brain cancer. Very sad.

Today is our library holiday CHRISTMAS party. We call it a party for our student workers, but we -all- enjoy it. Pizza and sides and laughter and fun today. I made a big batch of Chex mix for the soiree.

I can't afford to send many cards this year, I hope you all understand. Car repairs have taken most of my expendable income this year, but it doesn't mean I love and treasure any of you any less than in previous years. If anything, the warmth is deeper because of the shared experiences here. I've already received some cards from TDK friends and every one makes me smile!

  17. Well, right now I'm sleeping on the couch, AV, because I can't breathe on the mattress - less cat hair on the couch. So no room for an extra blanket there. And Bobsky likes to suck on the blanket and it has to be the blanket that's right by Mama's side, in the armpit - that's his spot. I guess I could put a blanket there for him to suck on when he wants, but that would distribute the hair from the blanket onto the area anyway. Arrrrgh! I'm taking my time with the bedroom since I want to make sure I do it "right" so I can sleep through the night without struggling to breathe.

  18. Morning Kitts!
Brrrr, it was 10.8 degrees when I got up this morning....but it is sunny and no ugly white stuff, so I am happy :)
I'm sending good wishes to those under the weather or having a difficult time with hopes things will get better!
I'm off to take a very hot shower, hope you all have a nice day!

  19. Morning, all. WWM's magic gargling solution seems to have banished my sore throat, mostly, so yay. I think Georgie knew that mama needed to sleep last night because he didn't bug me at all.

We have a cat sitter lined up for what may be our last vacation for a while, so that's one less thing to worry about. I just hope George doesn't get sick while we're gone, that would be awful.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Posted 5 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  22. And they're gorgeous, aren't they Joan?

Posted 5 months ago by Kilroy #

  23. Hi Kilroy! The difference in the eye size is interesting. I took a pic of my duo when Comet was a baby and the flash showed the difference in their ages - Leela's eyes glowed orange and Comet's glowed blue.

  26. That makes two of csbm. I started painting my new office space today. I hope to start working from home next year, so the place needs a little sprucing up. Strange feeling of excitement & trepidation mixed together.

It was absolutely pouring all day today, and its drizzling atm. Hope everyone has a good day/evening :)
