  1. Hi guys,

so Zoe was spayed and micro-chipped yesterday and the vet gave me a document from "HomeAgain" to fill out and send in. The document also says I can register my tag online. When I try to register, they only give me an option to sign up for an annual membership that's $16.99. I don't get it... Do I have to have an annual membership for the microchip to be valid, and if not, how do I register without signing up for the membership?

  2. I have Avid microchips and how they work is, you can send in that paper for free. If want to register the chip to my address online its $9.99. So I think home again is the same they want to charge you $16.99 to register the chip to you online but you can send in the paper work for free. I had the same problem with my kitten Noe when I went to register her online, so I just send in the paper work.

Oh and if you move they want to charge you the $16.99 to change your address on the chip. Or you can ask your vet for the free send in papers again.

  3. I have a home again microchip. You just need to register on the website with your contact info. The "membership" is just this service where they pay (up to$500) if your cat some how gets more than 500 miles away & has to be flown home and they help you search for for the cat with alerts. It's not worth it. They try to get you buy the "membership", but you don't need to just for the microchip to show your address.

Just go to where it says: Register Microchip at: http://public.homeagain.com/ and enter your email and then follow the prompts.

  6. You register with the chip # the vet gives you--a year's membership should have been included in the price of the chip.

  7. That's what I thought, I could've sworn the vet told me the price was like 40 something for the chip and 16.99 for the membership, totaling around mid 50... but then I got the form included in the take home stuff that you have to send in to register your pet, and it also gives you the option to sign up for the 16.99 membership... which is why I am confused. I'm just going to fill out the form, without the membership part, and send it in. In reality, that membership seems like just a gimmick for the company to get more money; seems pretty useless.
