    .... not sure the weather people are right today........... supposed to be almost 80, but so far windy and grey............ I don't think it will get up that high.................

    ...........ok, heading out again ........... I want to go to the used bookstore and trade in some books for something to read over the holidays..... I'm hoping they have a copy of 'the girl with the dragon tatoo'........... figure I'd better get to reading it, since the movie's coming out soon....

  13. I'll warn you AV, it's really violent. I think I mentioned it here before, the original Swedish title of that book was, "Men Who Hate Women", which pretty much sums up the whole trilogy. I finished it, but I felt like I needed a shower at times.

    I highly recommend watching the Swedish versions of the movies, they're excellent. From what I've read, David Fincher has messed with the plot pretty badly (why?????)

  15. Uplifting, definitely no. I had to finish it to see the main character get the ending she deserved, but it's in no way, shape or form an uplifting or happy story.

  17. JK, have a great time at the gym, and good for you for going!............... I'm sooooooooooooo guilty of being remiss about working out during the holidays!..............

    ............ I had a nice relaxing day off, starting my vaca............. tomorrow I'll clean and get ready for the college ones coming home, and then a nice weekend with the kids.................. next week, though I have 'off' from my regular job, I'll be working with Mr. AV........ extra Christmas money! yay!

  20. Good evening, all! Hope everyone had a good day!
    I didn't do very well with taking time off today, but at least I got things accomplished - put finishing touches on the tree, stopped at Target for a few things, dropped off tree decorations for GG, and got Christmas pictures of the boys since I didn't like this year's santa ones that much. With that done, I finally just ordered my Christmas card and they'll be ready for pickup in half an hour. I'm going to do my best to get all of them out by Saturday.

    And a bit of good news - the lady I was going to dog-sit for who lives really far called and cancelled for this weekend since their plans changed! I'm so relieved - have two other jobs this weekend already and it would have been difficult to do everything.

  21. Linda, finally getting over the almost month long cold I have had. My best friend wants to see the movie so I will prob go with her. I just don't like crowds and first preview movies are usually crowded.

    2.5 oz bags of Hills treats for .039, max of 5 ordered....mine just won't eat them...

  22. Woo hoo GD, at least you got some things done :)

    Going to go lie down, went to a memorial today and the road out there was very muddy going, should have had a 4x4 to get there but they didn't mention that when they announced the ceremony. But it was a good thing and we made it fine, with a mud encrusted car but we are alright so its all good.

  26. I seem to always be busy, yes! But I'm all done with my living and dining room now, and the place is fully decorated for Christmas, so I'm happy. Now if only I can get the Christmas cards out!

  27. Took a half day and didn't do as much as I should have with it. Oh well, once I get thru tomorrow, I've got 3 days off.
    Today's hubby's b-day, one with a zero on it! We went out to dinner to a place on a lake, nice atmosphere, good food and we practically had the place to ourselves. Enjoyed lots of Christmas lights along the lake on the ride up and back.
