  1. Evening Deb. I see you have been checking out Stuff again.
Lovely picture and story about Snoopy. LOL at the knitting cat.
Wow, nasty storm across the Great Plains.

  2. Sorry to post and run but I'm totally knackered and my brain is mush this evening. I need sleep before tomorrows tea party for Mum. Then and only then can I start thinking about Christmas. I'm hoping the mush has solidified by then or I'm in trouble.
Sweet dreams and headbonks for The Crew.

  3. Nighty-night, MS, sweet dreams and sleep well. I know what you mean. Scritches to Shadz. I will be lurking off and on for a little while, while I drink my hot chocolate (with double marshmallows). I am so wicked at Christmas, lol!

  4. Sorry I missed you Jan, sleep well and have sweet dreams, headbonks to HRH from the Crew.

Evening Jane, hot chocolate with double marshmallows sound really good right now. The weather here is overcast and a little bit wet, good thing though the desert needs it.

  5. Glad it's raining over there, Deb, how are you tonight? Mills, Libs and I have just been pottering around today, little bit of work, a couple of hours spent on finishing off the hedge, I have resorted to trying to cut the grass with hedgetrimmers too, since the weedeater is too flimsy and the grass is way too high for the lawnmower. So far, seems to be working...

  6. Jane, you don't have a hand-held thrasher? They use them here for some of the really yuck grasses that defy almost everything else besides a backhoe. I need to cut the sucker branches off of the dead lemon tree but haven't had the energy to do it. I spent my morning finishing my Christmas cards and tomorrow will put up the new tree I bought for this year. It is the most quirky white wire tree with lights that alternate between multi-colored and white for my ornaments. Saw one @ my friends house and it is so nice looking and shows off the ornaments even better because there is actually room to see them. But anyhoo, that was my day.

  7. Sounds like fun, Deb, and I can't wait to see pix of your new tree! Sounds like a very productive day. I don't think I have a hand-held thrasher unless that's the same as a weedeater/weed-whacker. My nice neighbour took a machete to some of my grass! but I don't trust myself with one of those... I am so accident-prone, I would be bound to cut myself off at the knees.

  8. Machetes take some getting used to, I won't use one unless I have too. The hand-held thrasher looks like the sicle(s) (?) that Death is always portrayed as holding, one swings it back and forth and it cuts the taller grasses/weeds really well. I will send pictures of the tree once its up and decorated :)

  9. OMGosh, I think I would be scared to try and use one of those too, Deb, I am not safe with dangerous implements, lol. I am still hoping for sheep, they are safe AND cute, lol.

Drowsing off here and longing for my bed and a kitty to cuddle, think I will toddle off now. Sweet dreams and sleep well when you get home, Deb, headbonks to the Crew. Nighty-night!

  19. I know the feeling, Deb! I feel tired today, so hopefully I can find a half hour at ome point to get in a nap. Have dogs to walk three times, plus pet-sitting for Old Boss. At least I managed to take Saturday off, so I will have two days "off" for Christmas.

  22. Hi everyone! Add me to the too much to do and not enough time list. Happy to say that the tree is trimmed and I found the box of kitchen stuff I was looking for. We used one of hubby's gift cards to treat ourselves to takeout from Outback - we've been celebrating his b-day since Thursday! Back to reality today though.
Hope everyone has a great day!

  23. Good morning everyone! (waves) I'm ready for Christmas: I have new glasses, a fresh perm, and just got my nails done in red glitter polish. Christmas trees painted on my thumbnails :-)

Local friends had a wassail yesterday (SCA group potluck) and it was good eats in the neighborhood, I tell you! Wonderful cheesecake, it was made with ricotta cheese, a nice change from cream cheese. Lots of ground almonds in it too. Num.
