   Good morning/evening all! Happy birthday to KYKAt today and to Jcat's Millie when she wakes up in a few hours and it's Christmas Eve in NZ. Can't believe our little girl is turning 1 already!

   The cafe is nicely decorated for Christmas - a wreath hangs on the door and there is garland, decorations and lights everywhere inside. The kitties are having Cracker Barrell cater today as they are going to be busy - a huge tree has just been delivered to the cafe and the kitties are excited to decorate it!

   Come on in, everyone and say hello, wish our birthday girls a happy birthday, help a kitty decorate the tree, have a meal, or just have a seat and relax and hang out for a while.

   Morning my friends. A big Happy Birthday to Kykat and to our little Millie!!! I can't believe she is already a year. She has been blessed with jcats care and it shows. Smooches to Millie!!!
   Under the weather at the moment..nasty cold...Abbers has it too and Maddie has been sick too. Today is a day for rest and staying in!
   I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas...I hope everyone(no matter what faith) is able to spend time with the ones they love.

   Happy Friday before Christmas everyone! A MUST SEE is the Mountain Gorilla video that MS put up earlier, it is an amazing experience for the gentleman who was lucky enough to have it.

   Trying to fend off this hanging on cold with Tylenol and gargling tons of aspirin in water. I did go see Sherlock Holmes the second movie last night, excellent and funnier than the first one.

   Update on the Pot Plant Owls....

   ‎22 Dec PM: We watched all 4 owls on the complex rooftops for a while. The chicks are flying strongly but are still distinguishable as 'chicks' (still have some fluff on them, and are smaller). We heard Timka hissing like crazy for food - can't believe the little 'stinker' is still expecting Mom or Dad to fetch the food - lol...

    Come on, people, we can do better than 12 posts on the cafe thread!!!

    Imagine being happy to get into work so you can "relax"? That's the kind of day I'm having - absolutely TOO much to do! On my way to walk the dogs this morning, the dog walking clients' neighbors call and ask if I could help them out. They're leaving in 2 hours and just couldn't bring themselves to take their old yorkie to the kennel! Arrrgh! So had to meet with them and go over things after walking the other dogs I usually walk. Then had to drive to walk a new dog whose mom works out at the gym - turns out dog's been abused before the human adopted her and she's really not good with people - and here I am walking into her house, having never met her before! There was 30 un-interrupted minutes of very loud barking and growling and 15 minutes of her staring me down during the first visit. The second one was better, but I can't walk her, because I can't get near enough to get her on the leash. It's not like I can chase after her with the leash, because she'd probably freak out and bite me! So, drove around between numerous dog-sitting houses all day (did go home for ten minutes to check for a package that came in the mail).
    Now working till 8:00 - rushing to Old Boss' since his son is making a surprise visit and I'm sure there are puddles of pee there since one of the dogs won't walk, and I only had time to go there once today! Then the old dog, and then home. GG wants to come over for my danish apple dumplings tonight! It'll take about an hour to make, and I probably won't be home till 9:30. Hope he doesn't mind a slightly messy house.

    Aaargh indeed GD. Thats suckss. Suppose now would not be the time to point out that dog sitting does not by proxy imply general other errands as well??

    One bit of good news to share! I am now owned by a hamster as well. Ironic, considering just a few days ago I was screeching like a banshee over a rat . . .

    Its the mommy hamster (from the baby hamsters from a few months ago). Turns out the little girl's parents just dumped their hamsters into the park cause they didnt want them anymore. The same little babies I raised with goat's milk. So sad. Today they were going to dump mommy as well, and I said no. The God I believe in said to take care of animals, not treat them like trash

    Any name suggestions? I'm leaning towards Mother Rat. She's extremely unsocial. She starts yelling at you when you walk past the cage . . . Cant wait to see what joys feeding time will bring . . .

    Shame on the owners just letting them go!

    I'm still stressed, but whatever it was the last client wanted needed done sooner than 8:00 which is when I told her I'd be there so she said never mind. And I told GG no Danish treats tonight. I do hope he can come by tomorrow for those, but he probably can't since his brother just came into town for a few days.

    The good thing is that since I was cranky anyway, I finally made the calls to my two volunteers that I dreaded making yesterday. The grumpy one said "no problem" and hung up on me. The other one didn't answer - yay!

    I had wanted to limit my pet-sitting and have a nice relaxing Christmas, but no luck there. Good thing is Old Boss will be back tomorrow and I don't walk the shepherds during the weekend, so I will only have the old neighbordog and the one who is scared of me.

    {{{GD}}} Glad you got those dredded phone calls over with yesterday. I doubt GG will mind a messy house.
    BB, hope your sore throat has eased.

    I am glad it is finally Friday. The office is closed 3 days next week since the holidays fall on the weekend, and I took vacation days for the other 2. Got out after the schools closed, stopped by mom's and brought her the pointsettia that was on my desk. I won't see her on Christmas so I wanted to sit with her for a while. Tomorrow I will be wrapping and cleaning and hopefully relaxing by evening.
    For now I think I'll have a tall glass of cider.

    Big Boss headed out the door at 7:20 and I mentioned to him that we hadnt had a soul in the gym the last two hours. He told me to go home! Yay!
    Headed to Old Boss' and straightened up there. His son showed up just as I was backing out of the driveway. Old Boss texted me that since son will be around tomorrow, I won't need to go there then! More yay!
    Then I went and walked the old dog who seemed to be doing well, so I was happy about that.
    Im home now (after non-stop 16 hours on the go) and going to enjoy some cheese and wine and the company of my boys.

    Thanks so much for starting the cafe for Miss Millie's birthday as well as KyKat's, and thanks to all for the lovely birthday wishes! She is very honoured, right now she is flaked out on the couch, it's the HOTTEST day here, absolutely lovely, and much too hot to do anything more exhausting than sleep and eat.

    Off to get some pressie-wrapping done....

    I've taken tomorrow off from work, so I'm going to be going between the two remaining dog-sitting houses and then hopefully to the new golf store for something for GG. Not too bad in comparison to what I had to do today.

    Evening all, Happy Birthday KYKAT and Millie.
    Jcat, Millie is doing what I want to do, flaking out on the couch. I've almost completed my Christmas cooking, just the baking of the cream cheese & sweet potato pie and bringing all the salad ingredients together. We're going to relax for a few hours and have a BBQ dinner with Meegz & Mr Meegz.
    GD, you have had a busy day, may less frantic.

    Sleep well KYKAT.
    Airy & I just did our late night 'Santa run' to Meegz house and we were busted on the job. We had just tippy toed to the front door when the porch light flashed on and Meegz opens the door. I had no idea Airy could move that fast and down steps too. We were caught trying to flatten ourselves against the wall.
    FAIL ! !
