  1. UGH, roads are nothing but a big sheet of ice. Took 1.5 hours to get to work. Followed a snow plow and was followed by the state police. My nerves are shot. I have a headache. I want summer!

  4. Ok, I will pick you up at noon today, be packed!

  5. Can I come too? No snow/ice ickiness yet, but it was COLD this morning! Then again, I should be counting my blessings; a year ago Mr. K was carrying Georgie over waist-high snowdrifts to the vet :(

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  6. Of course you can, Kilroy...but bring Georgie, too! We will drive as far south as we can, then get on a steamer to who knows where, but perhaps some tropical isle :))) The kitts can climb coconut trees and play in the surf :)

  7. Morning everyone. Still fighting my cold. Hoping not to run a fever today but we'll see. Found a story that made me smile though:

    Hopefully you'll smile too. :)

Hope all have a good day, back in a bit...later, but first a smooch for Tux!

  9. Morning Kit and JK :)

Kit, thanks for the story on Robert Downey Jr., love to see him act and the story was good.

Supposed to be about 71 degrees here today, what a winter so far, can't make up its mind.

  10. Deb, perhaps we should consider AZ for our move!!!

  11. Hi everyone! Add me to the "let's go south" crew. I had to dig in my closet for a turtleneck top before going out. I get stiff necks quite easily and it's windy and cold outside.
Seven years ago today, we lost Dad. I often wonder who he picked up at the Bridge. Boots for sure; his cat from the 40s. He asked about Boots in letters home from the war.
Leela slept at my belly last night. She must have been cold - she snuggled close!

  12. Good morning all. After visiting with my friend's "up a tree" kitten, I submitted the best photo I got for The Daily Kitten. He's on the front page today! I'll have to call my friend and let her know.

  13. Oh he's a cutie patootie, ECB! So glad he's found a happy home with your friend.

  15. Aw Joan, may special memories comfort you today. (Yup, I get that way on Christmas/was my sis Sue's b'day...) Great choice ECB, what a cutie tuxipatootie Zach is! Hey, it's still sunny plus almost lunchin' time so I am heading out to the always purrfect patio w/cuppa joe & Tux in tow...to the lounge chair kit!

Posted 4 months ago by jeankit #

  16. I remembered your sis' b-day JK. Yep, you want to feel sad, but they would want you to be happy at such a joyous time. I almost stopped by the cemetary, as I was down the valley earlier, but it's a time for the living.

Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  17. Thanks Joan with hugs...definitely time for joy & "special" memories! Sue & your dad were probably in the Meadow helping out plus keeping a heavenly eye on their special hooman's & furbutts still on terra firma!
Anyway, time to get back to reality of tippy tapping on my 'puter for more pm fun on a $budget...later!

  18. Good evening all. Hope you are all well and that Christmas has not stressed anyone out.

We've had an odd Christmas because my MIL, who was supposed to be coming to us on Christmas Day, was taken ill. We had to get the emergency Dr. out and so my husband spent the day with her. As the turkey was already cooking before I discovered she was unwell, DD and I had Christmas lunch alone, then DD had to go to work and I plated up two Christmas lunches and took them to husband and MIL.

Boxing Day we took Christmas to MIL - tree, presents, crackers the lot. She was very pleased. I even flamed the Christmas pudding for her.

We then opened the rest of our presents here later on Boxing Day evening. Despite having done all the usual things, albeit in slightly the wrong order, somehow I feel that Christmas has actually happened ...

Anyway MIL is improving, so that's good news. Husband is being an absolute a*** and won't visit her as he ought. DD says when he's too old to care for himself she's going to put him in a home where the nurses all have icy cold hands!

  19. PM, I'm glad your MIL is improving but sorry hubby is being a dolt. People never seem to think that the way they treat other people might come back to bite them someday.

It sounds like you managed to make a successful Christmas under trying circumstances.

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  20. It was different, anyway!

  21. PM, how nice of you to create as special of a time as possible under the circumstances and not so festive 'tude of hubs. Hopeful things soon will be settling back to somewhat normal. Appreciate your comment Christmas happened albeit in slightly wrong order. Wishing better days ahead for you & family in 2012!

PM - my goodness and good for DD! Seriously, glad MIL is improving.

    Hi everyone!

ETA: The heating pad helped last night. Going to be doing that again tonight (and probably for a little while here after getting settled in from work). Sinuses!

  24. Afternoon everyone. Trying to get everything done at "that place" so I can be off Friday-Monday. Christmas was wonderful and was filled with family and friends, but I am also looking forward to a couple of days of rest and recharging. My low battery light is blinking! I've posted all the checks and have done my end of the year newsletter and emailed it out. Now I am ready for the clock to tick down to closing time.

My prayer for us all is that 2012 brings us all good things: Health, happiness, love, kindness, friendship, comfort and peace.

For myself I am praying that my family and friends stay healthy and safe. I would like a funeral free 2012. I'm looking forward to seeing MC in a couple of weeks and hopefully the Dallas peeps in September.

I'm raising a virtual glass of champagne in toast to you all! cheers!

This sounds like a good tip...

Cat Got the Runs? Try a Spoonful of Yogurt
by JaneA Kelley, Cat expert and animal communicator, Paws and Effect

If your cat needs to take antibiotics, be aware that the medicine tends to kill good bacteria too -- including the bacteria that make his intestines work properly. The result can be an unpleasant case of diarrhea.

A teaspoon of nonfat, unsweetened yogurt once a day can help to restore those important intestinal flora and get your kitty's plumbing working properly again. Because most of the lactose in milk is converted to lactic acid in the fermentation process, cats can generally eat it without problems.
