Mom is heading into her final week of radiation. They have doubled up on the dose of radiation so it is making her extremely tired. She meets with the oncologist next Monday to set up her chemo regimen. She is to get a 6 week 'break' between radiation and chemo and it is a much needed break to build up her strength. She can't imagine that chemo would be worse but I don't want her to be mislead so I said, it's going to 'seem' harder as you are already worn out from radiation. I hope that wasn't too misleading. :)

Has she tried the V8 V-fusion juices? They are supposed to contain a serving of fruits and of veggies. I started drinking them since I am stuck on a low-residue diet; they taste better than regular V8 juice although not quite as good as pure fruit juice.
Not sure about chest wall irradiation, but with cranial irradiation, the fatigue gets worse during the last half of treatment and for awhile afterwards. It might be good to ask so that she doesn't get discouraged if that is the case and she doesn't start feeling better right away.
