It's a grey and windy day so far here in AZ, but the weather is purrfect in the cafe. Kittehs are cooking, baking, grilling and making sure the endless fountains of every drink are running smoothly. A soothing cool breeze flows down from the ceiling fans above...the jukebox is playing music of choice today.

Morning, ladies. It's supposed to be a cold one here today with possible snow :(
Anybody want a cat? Stupid George bit/scratched me on the leg again last night, same leg that finally just stopped being black & blue from the last time he bit me. So now I have a big scratch across the front of my knee and more scratches on the back along with 2 puncture marks. Brat.

Georgie!............... be nice to Meowmy!..........
.............. GD, I too am loving the cold snap!.......... it got down in the 30s last night here in Tampa, and will only be in the mid 50s today!........ Cuddles didn't want to come out on the porch this morning, she was too comfy snuggled deep in her bean bag under her blankie!
Abby just used me as a bean bag all night! LOL

Speaking of which, I am refusing to take down my Christmas stuff untill after the weekend. Haven't been hom enough to really enjoy it.
And I'm loving the tree and the lights so much, I am looking into getting some of those lighted branches and putting them in a couple of vases in my living room. -
.............. that's cool GD, I love the lights too, but we had to take everything down yesterday, cause I head back to work today :(
............. we took a family field trip to the St. Pete art museum and strolled the ancient Egyptian exhibit, it was really cool - Son particularly loves that kind of stuff, since that was his double major in undergrad .........

Love the purrfect weather in the cafe! Had a dusting of snow this morning - temps are supposed to drop into the single digits tonight, oh goody. Leela took over the bed last night; I don't know where the boy burrows down at night these days.

Day 2 of "don't let it get to me" at that place. It hasn't been easy, but I haven't lost my resolve!
Have a great day everyone!Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

I wasn't kidding and was hoping for some real help. If he doesn't stop biting me, I think I'm nuts to keep him (I know, I've been saying that for 4 years, but this has gotten ridiculous). All I did last night was get up to use the bathroom, next thing I know he has his teeth sunk in my leg. And no, I didn't step on him or anything.

{{{Kilroy}}} I'm sorry Georgie is still behaving this way. Other than immaturity, I can't think of what could trigger an unprovoked attack.
Leela is a spitter. Never had a spitter before and it's startling because it comes out of nowhere sometimes. Other times it's because she's annoyed with Comet's antics.Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Paw up waves g'morning to all from chilly yet sunny brewtown! Aw Kilroy, have you tried natural paw calment cream. (I have salmon flave which both like.) It does work on my kits when they are anxious, except when Lucky wants to use the outdoor facility vs litterbox. Yup, day 1 of wurk we for me, hang in there today Joan. Brr, GD...my niece is visiting SE WI this week & doesn't care for the weather, but at least we still have minimal snow! Hi Av & thanks for opening the cafe today, Deb...Mmm choco mint java is brewing & smells delightful, so will grab a very large mug. Now, a smooch for Tux, missed ya little kit, later...

Sorry for the grumpy post earlier, my leg is killing me & it's not helping my mood. I have a Georgie shopping run planned for the weekend (water fountain, new scratching post since he's murdered the old one, etc), so I'll definitely check out the "chill out, cat!" options.
I may be mad at him, but I still noticed when he disappeared this morning. I thought maybe he was hiding because he could tell he was in the doghouse, but turns out he sneaked into an open closet & got shut in. Found him sitting in the laundry basket.

Georgie, stop harassing your Mum and the biting is not a good thing either! Ok weird thought, but have you considered having a pet communicator to try and *talk* to him about what he is doing and how much it hurts you (both physically, emotionally, and mentally)? I had one come in twice for my crew and it actually did wonders for all of them with Haje especially. Haje would for the first ten years hiss at everyone who came in the house or near him, he would also almost beg for one to pet him and then try and bite the crud out of you.....after the person came in to talk to them, he actually greets people at the door now, he meows and hisses very rarely at anyone. It was the best $100 I spent and considering that she talked to all six at that time it was well worth it.
Morning everyone.

On another note, can I ask for good positive thoughts today for a dear friend/sister with a diff mother of mine. She is in a bad spot at work with one of the co-workers harassing her terribly and the final decision is today. He is a jerk but I couldn't help her because I know of him from prior work experience and not the current incidents :(

Good morning everyone! I was pretty much incommunicado from Christmas until today...sporadic internet connection at home got really irritating after awhile so I said "chuck it" and forgot about it (lol)
One of my coworkers who had been ill for some time retired mid-December 2011. He had bladder cancer that returned and spread to his brain. He died yesterday at home. He was 60.
A friend of mine out East died on the 30th, I suspect from a heart attack. He was in his late 50's.
I LOVE ALL OF YOU! Ya never know when it will be your last opportunity to say it :-)

Today's kitten is so cute!
Morning Siobhan, oh so sorry to hear about your co-worker may he rest in peace and your friend in the East also.

Gotta check out today's kit & the ones I've missed, thanks Deb. Good luck to you co-worker. Hello Sio...sympathy for you on our co-worker & friend's passing. Too true, you never know so enjoy the day and give it your best with hugs for all! Mmm and another cuppa joe...keeping it flowing for it feels like a moanday big time!

Good vibes headed to AZ, Deb - I sure hope things work out ok.
Hi Sio - so sorry about co-worker and your friend. Love ya back!

Kilroy, I am surprised that there isn't anyone in NYC, with all the people with furry ones in their households.
Morning Joan :) THanks for the vibes, I am hoping it at least gets solved even with mediation at this point.

Deb, I'm sorry, I skipped right over your post about your coworker. I hope things work out for her; workplace jerks are the worst.
I'm convinced that there has to be a cat whisperer type person somewhere in NYC, both for the reason you mentioned & because, well, it's NYC. You can find anything here, supposedly :)

This sounds great, but it's supposed to be super-freakin' cold tonight! I'm one of those nuts who will bundle up and go outside in the middle of the night with hot chocolate, but it promises to be too cold even for me!Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Joan me too I will do the same thing.
Kilroy, sent you a link with some I found on ask.com :)

Evening all!
Quick update on what's been going on in out household over Christmas and New Year.
Christmas got postponed because MIL had a fall and was unwell Christmas Day, so we took Christmas to her on Boxing Day, but it wasn't really the same. I feel I sort of missed Christmas this year. Then Friday evening Pickle tried out-running a car and was too slow. She bounced off the car un-harmed, but did a massive "face plant" into the road, so I did an emergency run to the vet Friday evening. Luckily my favourite vet was on duty that evening and was able to look after her. She was kept in overnight and had an operation Saturday morning to repair her face (one canine removed, lips stitched back into place). I brought her home Saturday afternoon, because she was refusing to eat at the vets. Since being home she has been behaving as if there is nothing wrong, although she has been staying closer to me than usual, but that could be because the weather is foul. Anyway, she goes back to the vet tomorrow for her post-op check-up. The vet said that she doesn't understand how Pickle has escaped being blinded by her recent cat fights and brain damaged from the impact on the road on Friday night. She thinks Pickle is the luckiest cat alive at the moment. I am one of the poorest cat owners - she has cost £489.26 since August! And, no I don't have pet insurance.
Back to work today - must keep working to pay vet bills ...

If she's not careful she's going to turn into a pair of tortie slippers! (Not really, but you know what I mean!)
