Hi MC! I'm going to pull up a comfy chair by the fire and lounge. Think I made a boo-boo at that place and it's eating at me - not going to think any more about it - can't do anything anyway.
Sorry you aren't getting answers in a timely way - that really stinks. On the plus side, glad you enjoyed a nap with the girls.Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Evening all, just up because I was *starving* ok not really but I was really hungry!
I see that the Rena, the ship that grounded in MS's Bay of Plenty backyard (NZ) has finally broken apart :(

Hiya CSBM! Here's a comfy chair & the snacks here are fabulous!
Hi Deb - sorry you're not sleeping but nice to see you. Guess it was a matter of time before that ship broke apart :(Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Joan, true it was a matter of time but wish they could have gotten more of the containers and the oil off first. The weather has been wonky too.
I did sleep for an hour or so, just wake up though when my body says its time to eat NOW :) Hope I can go back now, of course I have to watch the 2nd season premiere of Galaxy Jackson's Cat from Hell tonight :)

I'm shocked that more wasn't offloaded from it too. I understand it's probably a massive job, but I still can't fathom why more wasn't done.
I'm watching football. I should have undecorated the tree today but it didn't happen.

I was in a nice bath until something spooked the girls so I got out. Appears to have been the boogie man but I was ready to get out. I was watching football too Joan. It's a disappointing season for a Colts fan like myself. My girls and I are ready to settle down now. I could use some yummy snacks here too.

*shares yummy snacks*
I remembered that you're a Colts fan, MC. It's tough when your team has a losing season. Giants play tomorrow. I'm rooting for the Lions tonight, because they're the underdogs!Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Wow - a NS!!!! Wish that I could stay but we are off to watch a movie and then, I think, it's pillow time for me. Hope everyone has had a great Saturday!

Evening Shifters, the beaches here have been closed because of high swells and the threat of debris washing up. The next beach clean up we do could be interesting.
Joan, our isolation was part of the problem. We had to wait a month for a floating crane large enough to lift the huge containers from the deck and in the holds to sail from Singapore. We had smaller cranes operating at first doing what they could. To complicate matters the ship was slowly breaking in two and we had constant storms every two or three weeks that delayed work too.

I've been sitting here looking through relish & chutney recipes. My courgette/zucchini plants have gone into production overdrive and I can't bear to waste the fruit.Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hi Kilroy - sorry you're dealing with that - I do understand. Come sit by the virtual fire with us.
Hi WWM - it's been suggested that a NS should be a TDK New Year's resolution. Between all of us, we should be able to make it happen!Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Hi MS - thanks for that explanation. I couldn't imagine the powers that be wouldn't be doing everything possible. On another note, do you make zucchini bread?
I've been holding, and trying to comfort, an agitated Leela. Every exhale is a cry/growl. She's upset because whenever she makes a move, Comet pounces on her, which she hates. I keep telling her she should have whacked him a good one when he was a baby! I feel bad for Comet too, because he's lonely and just wants to play - he's just a bit rough about it.

Hi Joan, zucchini bread is one new thing I will be attempting. I have so many zucchini and some are so huge they can only be called marrows now so chutney or relish is the best way to use them up.
Awwwwwwwww Comet, behave and give Leela some peace for a while the maybe she will play with you.
Off out now, back on the NS later.
Sweet dreams to all heading to the land of Nod.Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

We love you Leela!! You need to be like Betty when she gets enough of Wilma. Give Comet a good left hook!! Let me tell you, it stuns Wilma and seems to keep peace for quite a while! MS I will be over as soon as your goodies (relish etc) are ready. WWM, I am with you on movie and then sleep! Kilroy, sending hugs & positive thoughts your way. Hang in there brain sister!

Yay!........... a NS!......... *happy dances*.............. hi to all, so glad to see everyone!............ don't know if any of you have seen the "Once Upon A Time" series, but I'm catching up on it, and I really like it!......... looking forward to the new episodes!
......... huggs to all that need them, white lights and positive energy to all!..........
..... Abby and I are snuggling in bed, Mr. AV is still watching DVR'd football......... a nice relaxing night, hope everyone is safe and warm!

Hi AV! *waiving* Yes, it's great to see everyone at the NS. We had some trees taken down in the front yard yesterday. I just went outside to look at my house - there's a beautiful almost-full moon, millions of stars, and with the front door open showing off the Christmas tree (and a little cat head looking out!) and candles in all the windows, my house looks so nice! Guess that's why I'm procrastinating taking it down! The view was somewhat obscured by the trees.

Hello everyone, getting ready before heading out for that place once again.
AV, that series is a good one, it starts again tomorrow night for the new season :)
Kilroy, hope you watched Jackson Galaxy's "Cat from Hell" show tonight, there was a kitty on there who I think was much worse than Georgie for attacking the woman in a household. His tips were very good and workable for them and the difference was quite astonishing :) And just a general {{{Kilroy}}} for you on dealing with the males in your household.

Evening Deb. we're just back from doing a check on the beach. So far so good, no oil or debris but tomorrow will be different. The surf was huge and coming well up the beach even several hours before high tide.
I have decided we're having ham & courgette fritters for dinner and I'll make zucchini bread. I have a feeling I'm going to find out just how much zucchini the family can take before they revolt. He he he
Catch up with you later.Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hello all! i had the best desert ever today at Bj Brewery with SMFMomma. When we went to lunch after the cat show. Beignet with fresh sliced strawberries, strawberry puree, a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and whip cream. It was rocking.

MS what kind of fritter? never heard of that type before.

Hi Ange, ohhhhhhhh beignets with strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Sounds like you and SMFMom had a good time.
Courgette fritters or zucchini as you may know them. I'm using up the last of the Christmas ham in them too. Just google and you'll get a plethora of recipes.
I'll make zucchini bread tomorrow and have just got a courgette pickle recipe that daughter has used for her excess crop.Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Evening all!............... can't seem to sleep, so I'm up watching mindless things on the tube :)
............. I have a great zuccini dish, I'll send it to you, MS! my family loves it!........... haven't made the bread myself, but have tasted some that others have made, and it's good!............... should be a good use of the vegetable!
-
AV, I totally understand the watching things on the tube :) Have never had zuccini bread, just never clicked in my brain that I would like it as much as I do banana bread (sorry I do like it).

Hi Deb & AV, dinner is over and the courgette & ham fritters were 'so-so'. They fed us, and that's what counts.
I've never had zucchini bread either, sounds odd but then carrot cake sounded odd to until it met my taste buds. I found a recipe that has walnuts in it just like some banana bread recipes.
Settling back to finally watch Julie & Julia.Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
