A fresh new w**k week has dawned and the cafe is here to make it cheerier for you. Fresh noms are coming out of the kitchen and chef kittehs are ready to make anything you want. Hot and cold fountains are flowing.
The special of the day is bagels - they make 'em great 'round here! Plain, egg, everything, salt, multi-grain, marble rye, poppy, whole-wheat, pumpernickel, cinnamon apple raisin, cheese and blueberry. Hmmm, did I forget any? All the fixins are here too - butter, cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese, locks, and jellies of every flavor.
Welcome!

To the rest who stop in g'morning from grey yet mild brewtown! A couple more days of our Jan. thaw to enjoy...kits have been luvin' it with some time outside together over the weekend! But now back at it again, so will go baack with a cheesie bagel & my cuppa joe in tow, later...but first a smooch for Tux! -
Morning everyone :) My fav bagels are the newer thin ones with cream cheese, slice of onion and a nice tomato slice on it :)
Saturday my niece, my Dad and brothers had a nice home style memorial for my brother @ my Dad's house. Wish I could have went but wasn't told about it until late Friday night, otherwise I would have driven out there. It went well though and everyone had nice remembrances.
Pot Plant Owl
All systems go for my visit to the 'International Festival of Owls' in Minnesota, USA in March. Hope to see some of you there- it will be a hoot. The cost to ship a copy of "Pot Plant Owl" - the book - from South Africa to the USA is expensive. For this reason, I am taking a few books across with me to the festival. At the request of a couple of PPO followers, I am now taking USA book orders. If anyone is interested in ordering a book which will be sent to your address once I arrive in the USA, please let me know before the 17th February to give me enough time to get the books ready.

Joan, I am worried about the fact that there has been so few birds around lately. I DO have tons of snowbirds though... They love the tall weeds around the edges of the field, that have dried and seem to find seeds on them. I'll call the local environmental center later and ask. We have quite a few in the area.

BB, not as many birds here this year, was talking about that this weekend. Hope that they come back this spring as usual.
Have fussing going on here, seems hackles are up this morning amongst the crew....why, oh who knows.

Scary Deb! A few people have mentioned that here and at work, and it really worries me. :( Hope they are not dying off like the bees and the bats have. :( BTW, do you know what that planet is that is always near the moon lately? The full moon was gorgeous last night! I used to watch Jack Horkheimer on TV, but have not seen him lately. Is it Saturn? Thought you may know.

Isn't it Mars or Jupiter thats been near the Moon, ok I checked its Venus lol! Its Earth, Venus and then Mars that are closest to the Moon.

I cheated and went onto ask.com, lol! I knew it was one of the three planets just couldn't remember in my brain dead moment which one for this time of year :) So I blame it on working the midnight shift and not sleeping yet :)

I'll have to check that out. I was up until 2:30 this morning because of him & I can't do that again tonight, I have a job intv tomorrow.
On a happier note, Mr. K is once again being his sweet self & made one of my favorite dinners last night. I may just make him do it again on Thursday for my birthday :)

Yep, full moon tonight - Comet will be howling! I sort of presumed that was Jupiter by the moon - thanks for clearing that up! Now I know I'm looking at Venus!
Think I'll set out another bird feeder. The one they have used has been fixed many times, and may not work out this year (it's a neat lighthouse one too). The one that I have out now is the window one, which won't attract larger birds and Comet has done a good job at scaring the little ones that try to come.
Oh and about the full moon? Everyone in my house is being a nut except me! Scary, huh? :)Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

I would love a chocolate chip bagel if they are available. Toasted with raspberry cream cheese. A tall ice cold glass of milk to go alongside.

Morning Kilroy, luck be with you for the interview! Glad that Mr. K is being nice, now to work on Georgie.
Joan, how cool on the bird feeder. I am using trash can tops hanging on macrame thingies, got the idea from a house we went too for a yard sale. Works perfectly and doesn't dryrot or fall apart, so its a good thing. The tree/bird houses I have are all around the yard waiting for new occupants.

Nom, nom, nom, purr-fect! It's just what my tummy needed. I am spinning around today or the room is, not sure which one. I have some vertigo meds to help me out. Nothing new from the doctor.

Oooh MC, your choice of bagel & cream cheese sounds delish! I knew I didn't think of them all! There's a bagel place around here that makes pepperoni and cheese - goes great on a cold day with tomato soup.
I have a bird house that's had a "for rent" sign for over a year. I wanted to give it plenty of time in one place, but it looks like it should be moved to another spot.
I have woodpecker seed on my list for when I stop by the garden center on the way home later to put in a feeder especially for woodpeckers. Love watching them!Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Kilroy, just a thought and got it from watching "The Cat from Hell" this weekend. Do you have a cat tree for Georgie, one that he can be higher then you? The one cat on there who had horrible issues with attacking the woman which stopped when they put a cat tree next to the window so she could see outside. They also put up staggered shelves (only two so not to overwhelm the home owner) on the wall leading up to the cat tree (so the flow would be around the room rather than thru it), it appeared to gave the cat a sense of relaxation. Before that the cat was an angel with the husband but never the wife, plus she was afraid of being bitten and/or scratched from out of nowhere (sound familiar). It was Galaxy Jackson's show, and that might be turned around on the name. You might be able to get a short video on it from the Animal Planet site, they showed them last season.

Deb, those birdfeeders you have sound great. But, what if it rains, do they have holes in the bottom? I guess you don't get much rain there anyway, LOL...
That show is really good about the cats. That guy is so cool!! Love it that there is always an answer to the problem, so the owner doesn't get rid of the poor kitty!
