Lots of warm yummies for you tummy. weird strange stuff this evening, sounded like someone was knocking on my security door (nope it wasn't the javalina) didn't answer since I can see outside and couldn't see anyone there. Probably just some strange noise of the night, shrugs....

  5. BRR! Set up the hot chocolate and slather one of those cinnamon rolls with maple frosting. I need comfort food! Thank God it's Friday. What a week it has been!

  6. Morning! Practical jokes are funny, especially when the practical jokee looks foolish...NOT! *shaking it off*
My black cats are coming to the cafe today. Leela's leg rubs are comforting, soothing, and guaranteed to make you smile. Comet was howling a new song EARLY this morning so I'm sure he will want to sing for you!
    Happy Friday the 13th!

  7. Morning, all! I'm happy to report that the birthday linguini was amazing (could smell the garlic when I got off the elevator).

Sio, please be careful driving in the nastiness.

Comet, if you'd like Uncle George will sing harmony with you :)

  8. *Leela, being the cynical big sister, hands out ear plugs to those coming into the cafe. However, she's curious to see if Georgie's harmony will help balance Comet's too-sharp high notes.*
We're supposed to get your mid-west weather later today, but hopefully not the snow. It's windy and temps are supposed to drop throughout the day.
    Be careful out there, friends!
    TGIF!!!!!!

  9. Hi Kitts!
So glad you enjoyed your Birthday dinner, Kilroy!
I have the winter blues :( But, I do hope that you all have a nice Friday!!!

Posted 4 months ago by katthays #

  10. {{{KH}}} Sending you virtual sunshine and daffodils to banish the blues.

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  11. Hate those winter blues...
Kat, do you have forsythia? If you clip some and put it in water, you'll have bright yellow flowers in about a week.

Gaa! Just looked out my window and it's snowing sideways!

Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  12. Ahhh, I can feel that sunshine, Kilroy!
Joan, no, I don't have forsythia, but my fav color is yellow and that would be cheerful for sure!
We had alot snow yesterday, still spitting the stuff.....just so gray and dreary. Very cold, too! Argh.

  13. Happy Friday the 13th!!! It's snowing here, sun is shining on and off, blustery, very windy and cold~ about 34 degrees! Brrr.... Had tons of snowbirds out here earlier. Now since I put food out, I see none. LOL

  14. Can I just say that if I didn't have Internet radio I would be going completely bonkers boxing up videotapes for storage? Instead I'm dancing at my desk, silently singing along to the best of the 80s :)

  15. Morning all from sunny & snow covered brewtown! Finally got my 1st snow aerobics in for the year, 2x's in 1 day/nite is enough, now it can be Spring...dreamer! Have to report Lucky din NOT want to go outside last nite, turned right around & hopped on the bed! This morning he went outside for about 5 min. I called him 1x & he strolled right in back to the bed, purring away! I think he is cured of his roaming ways for the moment! Yippeee! Anyway, both boys were on the bed when I left, not cuddle kits yet but who knows & it's Firday the 13th! So now I need a big mug o'joe as Packer Perc with a gooey cinnybun would be great! Paw up waves to all as BB,Kat,Joan,Kilroy,LK,Sio,Deb & MC if still around! Now a smooch for Tux, later...

  16. Yay Lucky! You are one smart kit.

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  17. Thanks Kilroy, I am very pleased at the progress. He looks soo big but it is furry fluff w/his tiny voice as a chirp. When he kneads he gets into it even w/back feet...so fun to watch! Anyway, thought of you last nite for I cooked w/garlic too...yum!

  18. That is so cute, JK! Lucky is a lucky boy :)

  19. I'm so glad Lucky opts to stay in with Crockey!

  20. Ooh, a cinnamon roll or three sounds good today, especially with cream cheese icing and a cup of vanilla spice green tea. I shall make soup and bread today, since I made a quick trip to Earth Fare yesterday. For those who do not live in the South or in Ohio, Earth Fare is similar to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, except the stores are a bit cozier (yes, some Whole Foods locations can be overwhelming) and there's a café inside (I didn't notice a café inside Trader Joe's the last time I was there a couple of years ago). Right now most Earth Fare stores are in the South; its three (soon to be four) stores north of the Mason/Dixon line are all in Ohio, and I happen to be near the Cleveland store. I'm spreading the word now so that those who live outside the South or Ohio can get their own Earth Fare store in their community.
One question: I picked up a bottle of Cabernet yesterday, since I don't normally drink red wine but I have heard frequently of its heart-health benefits. Can anyone suggest a sweet red wine? That Cabernet is too tart for my palate and I'm used to drinking Moscato (a sweet white wine).

  21. Hi Vicki, here is a link for sweet red wines:

(I prefer whites too as Sauvignon Blanc but may people prefer reds as dry/sweet.)

  22. I have a good one at home for company. When I get home tonight I'll check and see what it is and let you know, Vicki.

  23. Well it is lunchin' time in brewtown so heading out to the always purrfect patio w/cuppa joe, biscotti & fave kit Tux in tow...c'mon kit to the lounge chair & sunny mild 70's patio...yes I do have a great imagination plus I do need it sometimes at wurk!

Posted 4 months ago by jeankit #

  24. Think the TDK patio is a better place to lounge for a bit today than the one in joisey - it's quite windy! Hmmm, mid 70s, JK's lounging, Tux and his buddies are out there - yup, I'm headed there!

Wow, look at all the black cats out here!

Posted 4 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  25. Hi Joan, pull up a lounge chair for it is purrfect out here! (Ssh, don't tell for lunch is over but let's visit w/the lucky black beauties for a while!)

  26. I won't tell if you won't! :) After all, it's Friday!

  27. Morning Joan and JK :)

Sitting here trying to decide on whether to upgrade my phone thru Sprint or go to Boost (who uses Sprint lines @ cheaper prices) for an Android/Smart phone. Did accomplish upgrading my internet from 1.5mb to 12mb for actually less than I am paying now, won't happen until the 27th but hey at least it will be faster than horse-drawn carriages, lol!

Have to share this, maybe our TX members will sign to help these 9 kitties...

I am including a message from my friend Amy, with a link to the petition protesting the verdict that the cats are no longer allowed to be fed at the park. This managed TNR colony has shrunk from over 40 cats to *9* left, all altered and vaccinated. Please sign (if you are in Texas) and share to support our kitties!

    Good evening,
This is Amy O. in Waco. I have a HUGE favor to ask.

Many of you know I volunteer with the Trap-Neuter-Return program for feral cats though my local Humane Society.

The Waco Lions Club is evicting 9 TNR cats from their Lions Park (that sits on city-owned land) and will be posting NO TRESPASSING signs to forbid our volunteers from feeding the cats.

When we started doing TNR back in 2007, there were 40+ cats… thanks to TNR, today there are only 9! We did this at NO CHARGE to the Lions Club or the community.

The Lions Board supposedly made this decision in Sept. 2011, yet they deceived us into believing that if we “jumped through hoops” we would get to address their Board regarding this issue. We found out yesterday they are “non-negotiable.” It’s a done deal… in THEIR minds anyway. We’re not giving up on these 9 cats!!!

(By the way, Lions Club wants to revert back to TRAP & KILL, at taxpayers’ expense, burdening our already over-crowded Waco Humane Society.)

Anyway, if you would PLEASE take a moment to sign the petition in support of my Heart of Texas Feral Friends, I would be mostgrateful.

    Here is the link again:http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/SaveTheLionsParkCats/

Signatures are allowed as long as the person is in Texas, so we’re sending this high and low, far and wide, across miles and miles of Texas!

If you’re in the Waco area on Saturday (Jan. 14), we’re planning a PROTEST in front of Lions Park (Bosque Blvd & New Road, 76710) at 2 p.m. We’re inviting media, since that’s when Lions Club said our feeding station had to be removed or they would “pursue this removal” of the unit.

    Thank you in advance!!!
AND PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR ANIMAL CONTACTS IN TEXAS TO SEE IF THEY WILL SUPPORT US, TOO!

  28. Occupy Lions Park!!!!! Looks like they are following in the steps of the Loews hotel chain that went from embracing TNR to shuttling their cat colonies off to kill shelters. (Dislike) I have agreed to start volunteering do do TNR in my community. We have an individual who has been taking it upon himself, physically and financially and now he is asking for help with the trapping. There are two colonies he is working on. One is a managed colony where he is allowed to provide food and set up shelters for the cats and the other is near a gas station where the owners have forbidden the employees from feeding the cats and wont allow shelters or feeding stations. Their patrons however have been keeping the cats fed. So I am going to help him out and see how many we can get trapped and fixed.

I hope everyone is having a good Friday afternoon. Hang in the weekend is almost here! I am extra excited because... in the morning I fly to Chicago! Our niece is looking at DePaul University and being the doting Aunt and Uncle, Mr KYKAT and I are taking her there for a long weekend to check out the university and attend classes on Monday. If weather permits I am hoping to be able to give some big TDK hugs to MC! You will all be packed in my luggage and pics will go up on facebook and later a link from here.

  29. Oh heavens the driving was horrible today! I think I had at least 10 nervous breakdowns! It is sooooooooo cold too, windy, and well, COLD!

I got my cardiac monitor off and now I have to wait for the results. She said it will be "at least" a week. Oh geez.....

Comet and Leela are quite entertaining today!
