  2. Medication overdose. He had been in chronic pain for years due to warts on his feet, plus he may have had ailments I knew nothing of.

  5. I find myself wondering, If I had fixed him one more hot home-cooked meal or if I hadn't let him know that his children were being less than well-behaved or if I had shared my collection of Internet 'art' films with him or if I had insisted that he go to rehab, would he still be here? Surely there's something I could have done to keep him on this side of life.

  7. Vicki, maybe you'd already done plenty to keep him here as long as he was here - don't beat yourself up. {{hugs}}

  8. Yeah, Vicki. We can "what if...." until the cows come home. Nothing would change. So sad for his young daughters.
    I hope your pseudohusband can find a way to release those tears. They can lead to healing so much faster. Positive healing energy to you and the whole family.
    Peace, hugs and purrs.

  11. I now know that Stepson #2 has been staying with his mom and stepdad. My stepgranddaughters were over today and they were bouncing off the walls even more than usual. I'm trying to have a conversation with Stepson #3 when the children were arguing louder and louder. Finally, words I had hoped would never cross my lips sped out in full force: I told the children that if they didn't stop arguing this instant that I would beat their behinds. They stopped arguing for about fifteen minutes. I seem to be coming a bit unhinged now that Stepson #1 has passed. I wasn't this way when my grandfather passed away almost twenty years ago. What's going on? Is this normal?
