  1. Thursday, Thursday. Ok, if I can get thru it, you can get thru it!
Kitties are cooking and baking and grilling and the cafe smells fantastic! Kittens and cats are ready to play and older cats are looking for snuggles (and maybe a small handout!). Vases of white flowers adorn tables with crisp white linens. Don't worry if you spill your Bloody Mary; the TDK washing machine is in the other room, and the best part is, hoomans aren't allowed to use it! Most mama tabby cats aren't afraid of a little water!
Come on in - the weather, the atmosphere and the company is purrfect!

  2. I need some snuggles from any kitty who is willing. My week has been absolutely crappy...can't seem to get anything right and have to redo it all. Plus, I had a slight headache for 3 days that made me cranky.

  3. Joan, sure throw that in there (if I can get thru it, you can get thru it!) lol!!!

LK, my week has been wonky from the get-go so I know the feeling. May your headache go away soon.

  4. Morning all!................ today and tomorrow I'm 'off', getting ready for the BIG day on Sat. I will be Hazeling, shopping, decorating today, then tomorrow, helping Mr. AV with a trade show........... kids/guests will arrive tomorrow evening, then we all 'hunker' down and wait for the invasion...............

........... a Bloody Mary sounds lovely, sorry LK and Deb for the 'wonky' weeks, hope they get better!

  5. Hi Kitts!
Oh my, leaving the operation of the wash machine to the furballs? Now that could be interesting, lol.
Hugs to LK and to Deb.....hope today will break the crappy week cycle for you both!
Sounds like a wild and fun weekend, AV!

  6. Morning, folks. Sorry about the headache and crappy week, LK. As I'm currently experiencing both of those things I can truly sympathize.

Mr. K & I had an adventure for dinner last night; we used our brand new GPS system to navigate over to Brooklyn (yeah, we're Manhattanites and the outer boroughs might as well be the moon :P), and tried a tapas restaurant that we had a Groupon for - it was awesome! We got 5 tapas, 2 desserts and a pitcher of sangria. No pictures, but here's what we had:

Serrano ham & Manchego cheese (we fell in love with both of these in Spain, and it's almost impossible to find serrano over here), accompanied by a tomato bruschetta.

Grilled sardines - this one I ordered for Mr. K because he loves them

    Herb-marinated pork tenderloin

Shrimp in garlic sauce (the sauce was so good we could have made a meal of that & a loaf of bread)

    Spanish-style meatballs in tomato sauce

Dessert: Cheesecake for Mr. K and for me, chocolate & vanilla ice cream in a dark chocolate shell with cherries.

  7. Nummy! We have a tapas bar in Kalamazoo. I liked it, hubs thought it was an expensive way to have a meal. Well, yes. That's why it's called a "special night out" honey (lol) It's not a burger off the $1 menu at The Golden Arches.

He had no idea was tapas was and if he'd like it. As soon as he discovered it was pretty much like dim sum or ordering appetizers, he was better with it. My favorite was the sea scallops, they were huge. 3 for $10. But the mural of flavor was worth every bite.

  8. Oh, Kilroy..part of my fantasy of living in NY for a couple of years involves trying all the restaurants. That sounds like so much fun. I'd better start saving now though, if I'm going to be sampling NY restaurants for 2 years.

Posted 4 months ago by ecbrown #

  9. ECB, I think you'd have to live here a lot longer than 2 years to try all the restaurants :) But you'd sure have fun trying.

Oh, and Mr. K said something sweet over dinner; he was telling me how he was all upset yesterday morning & couldn't figure out why, so he went to the gym to work off whatever it was that was bugging him, and while he was on the elliptical he figured out, "I'm upset because my wife is upset about her job going away". May sound elemental, but for him it was an ah-ha moment. I love my Mr. K :)

  10. Mmm your dinner menu does sound great Kilroy plus Sio can't go wrong with scallops! Was to a local tappas place when it first opened downtown. It was good but the place was packed which wasn't as relaxing as we hoped! Should go back now that the novelty has worn off. It is dreary & damp in brewtown plus am fighting the recurrance of the crud along w/officemate! One of our bosses has a child in daycare & I think he was spreading it around from his dtr! Cold meds for me vs bloody mary. Feel better Kilroy, LK, yes you'll get thru your TGITH Joan. Hi Kat & Av too! So having my cuppa joe as pumpkin spice today & back I go. Now a smooch for Tux, later...

  13. Mr. K just sent me a photo of George curled up on Mr. K's coat :) Before I left this morning I had to shoo the orange monster off *my* coat. I guess he likes soft, warm things that smell like his hoomins.

  14. Aww Georgie...
Crockey was playful mood this AM. He was pushing his toys out of his top pirch bucket...honest, some of them went flying past meowmy! So had to pick 'em up before work! Anyway, getting another cuppa joe & back I go...

  15. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww (for Kilroy getting a picture of George being cute)

Posted 4 months ago by Siobhan #

  16. It was very cute :) We also had a really good game of "chase the mousie" this morning. I tell you, when he's being good/cute/asleep :) I love him until my heart almost bursts.

  17. Sio, can you send me your e-mail address? I was going to send you the picture of Georgie but I think I have an outdated e-mail for you. I'm newsgoddess at gmail dot com (guess I should change that one of these days :P)

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  18. Thanks Deb. That's what one of our producers used to call me, and when I needed a new email it just seemed like a good one.

Good article on the coyotes; we even get coyotes here in NYC sometimes. I never quite understand how they get here from where they came from; do they come through the tunnels or over the bridges?

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  19. They have a very large roaming territory, depends on food sources. I have watched them use the washes here to travel across and over the highways.

Posted 4 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  20. There was a news story I heard recently how they put cameras in washes and underpasses (?) to record wildlife usage. They not only saw alot of critters using them, they recorded Mamas teaching the little ones to use them!

Posted 4 months ago by TrufflesMom #

  21. They have cameras along the borders here in AZ to see the jaguars and other wildlife that cross the border and to ensure their safety.

  22. Morning ladies. Someone slipped some winter into our summer overnight. We have 120kph winds(75mph)hitting the city in places blowing straight from Antarctica! It's supposed to pass over before the weekend thankfully.
Kilroy that is so cute what MrK said to you. Could you also send me a picture of the adorable Georgie? katesluka at hotmail dot com

  23. Will do KK. I hope Sio sees my question about her email. I don't suppose anyone else has it?

*Kilroy runs off to email KK*

Posted 4 months ago by Kilroy #

  24. Thanks Kilroy - just emailed you Sio's address from the Xmas card list.
