One of my fav's from this one is:

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada? (USA)
A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Ca-na-da is that big country to your North...oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.

and then there was the one for the park rangers...

  2. Evening/morning Deb. We've just been watching The Smurf movie here. LOL, some good adult humour in it if you're quick enough to catch it.
Checking out the links. That cherry tomato recipe looks great. Sad about the last dotterel dying, there aren't that many left here that we can afford losing them like this.
Awwwwww, love Cuddle buddies and Mama's kiss.

  4. Evening Jan, lol the answers given for the Olympics and the Park Rangers are things that I would say....yes I am quick witted....it was sad about the dotterel dying :(

I think it is Maru too, you are right the flooring is the same.

  5. Evening, ladies, I am popping in and out, cleaning, watching telly, avoiding work. How are you both tonight?

  6. Evening Jane, how are you this evening besides cleaning, watching the tube and avoiding work? Lol I tried to do that today....the only thing I accomplished was hooking up the new faster modem to the computer.

  7. Evening Jcat, you're proof that women can multi task. I'm good tonight, I have HRH tucked up beside me bathing and breathing her fishy supper on me.
How was your day Jcat? Sunny?

    Posted 3 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  8. Fine, thanks, Deb, but a bit worried about my mother, my brother has to go back to work next week so he'll be moving back to his flat too and she'll be alone. If I lived closer, she could just pop in if she felt lonely. Hopefully she'll come up for a day next weekend but I just wish she had someone nearer.

  9. Jane, does your Mum have a few friends that she is close too in the area? It would be nice if she came up to visit with you too. I understand worrying about her, I worry about my Dad even with my brothers living there.

    More funny readings....

  11. Ooh, sorry, MS, you snuck in. Actually I am not very good at multi-tasking, I have several times lately left the hot tap running (and running and running) by trying to do the dishes and the rubbish and the vaccuuming and various other things at the same time and as for the pots I've left on the stove...

It was gorgeous and sunny, MS, but quite breezy -- but that turns out to be a blessing when you're wrenching convolvulus from the rose bushes (yes, I let it take over...) and getting all hot and bothered.

  12. Deb, she has a great friend who has just moved across the road from her but unfortunately her daughter has a contract in Canada at the moment, so she is in Canada with her, helping to look after her granddaughter. It will be great when she gets back because she is literally just up the road but that won't be until April (and might not even happen then if her daughter gets a further contract). She is so good though, she is ringing and emailing all the time.

  13. Ohhhh just watch for the pots left on the stove, the rest can be dealt with.

It was sunny here too with a touch of breeze but that was fine, breezy weather makes my windchimes sound all the more wonderful :)

  14. That will be nice when she gets back for your Mum, wish it was sooner for her and you though.

  15. I bought this for Rebecca for her birthday, her phone call to me was "Awesome Grandma"! That made me smile for sure, it was a box of Wedgits.

  16. Oh yes Jcat I can understand your worry. Maybe you could set up a regular phone call check up. Now I feel bad as I didn't have time to visit Mum today.

    Posted 3 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  17. Me too, Deb, me too. I love windchimes too, and I have to say, the nicest windchimes I've ever heard were when I was visiting the States. You guys must tune them differently or something. My friend Vi sent me some from there, made of little tin cats, it's lovely :) Deb, I have a fire extinguisher right by the kitchen on the wall. It's a volunteer fire brigade here so they all have to get to the station before they can get to the fire.

MS, we usually chat once a day on the phone anyway. Sometimes twice. But I will have to be extra careful not to miss a day. But even if I lived next door, I don't think I'd be visiting her every day, we'd drive each other crazy!

Deb, that does look awesome! Becca must know she has just about the best grandmother in the whole wide world.

  18. I used to talk to my Mom at least everyday, unless I wasn't feeling well because I didn't want her to worry a lot.

My Dad used to make metal windchimes that sounded so good, I have a lot of them hanging on my back porch. Also put some in the frontyard trees just because I like the sounds. Some of my neighbors don't like them much though, but then again I don't appreciate their barking dogs either and the windchimes sound more pleasant to me.

These types are my favorite right now, I have three of them each about 18" long..

  19. I bet your garden sounds lovely, Deb.

Talking of pots, I have just put some rather elderly red peppers under the grill to blister so don't let me forget I need to keep checking them occasionally...

Posted 3 months ago by jcat #

  20. Oh the red peppers under the grill sound lovely, I love peppers.

Posted 3 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  21. Yes Jcat, driving each other crazy is quite easy for a mother and daughter, I know. I probably drive her crazy too.
Excuse my short answers, I'm hunting down ideas for chocolate filigree type decorations for a sweet potato cheesecake I'm taking to a birthday party.

    Posted 3 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  22. I need to start cutting down the lemon tree that froze last February, hate doing that but its not coming back unfortunately.

Posted 3 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  23. Jan, lol oh yeah I did it with my Mum and I am sure I do it with my girls too.

Posted 3 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  24. The chocolate decorations sound like it will add a nice touch to the cheesecake.

Posted 3 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  25. Ooh, yum, are you going to pipe the melted chocolate onto baking paper and let them harden like they did on Masterchef?

Deb, I didn't realise the lemon tree was truly dead and gone, what a shame. You will have to plant another one. (I have killed three or four :( )

Well, I wanted to make sure I didn't waste the peppers, I haven't been cooking lately, so I've decided to make a 'smoked' pepper pizza tomorrow, making the dough in the breadmaker. There will be other things on it as well but I love the flavour of blistered peppers.

Posted 3 months ago by jcat #

  26. Jcat 4 minutes since you put the peppers under the grill - check.
Deb, nice windchimes. I have quite a few around the house but the outside ones either rusted or the cords rotted from the sun.

    Posted 3 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  27. Just did, MS, Libs has just climbed up the rosebush and demanded ANOTHER supper!

Posted 3 months ago by jcat #

  28. Jcat that is what I'm hoping to do but I need to find the right sort of design.
Oh Deb, what a pity the tree turned up it's toes. I've managed to kill 1 lemon and 1/2 a lime tree.

    Posted 3 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  29. Yes Jane, go check the peppers! I kept hoping that it would come back to life and flourish.

Jan, we have that problem here with cords rotting from the sun quickly so I have hung mine under the porch covering. The ones in the frontyard are all metal to include the chains holding them up.
