This afternoon I went to let my girls (the dogs, Tita, Ruby and Hillies) out for thier last bathroom break before leaving for work and there were 3 extra dogs in my backyard. Turns out the neighbor dogs had dug under the fence and come for a visit. My neighbor has Tita's brother, who is HUGE, he is like twice her size. They also have a little chihuha, who is the meanest of the bunch. And a pretty female pitbull. All the dogs had a grand time playing in my backyard while I went to let the neighbors know that there had been a breakout again. So I now need to go and get more bags of soil to help fill in the holes and some bricks to place along the fence. I am so glad that it was cold today and so I didn't let Buster go out and sit on the porch like I usually do when I am home.

OMG, BHM..I hope those dogs would leave your cats alone if the cats were outside. I would definitely take pictures of the holes in the fencing and document. The neighbors need to pay to help you fix the problem since it was their dogs. Are you on good terms with your neighbors?

Oh they are fixing the problems on their side, but my dogs are helping to dig too, so I can't put the blame only on them. I am on good terms with them, they are very nice people and thier dogs are very nice to people and do not bite, but I do not know if they would attack my cats or not. My cats only go outside with supervision. I fill the holes on my side of the fence and they are putting bricks on thier side to keep thiers from digging

I hope everyone has been spayed and or neutered! At least the dogs are digging to be with their friends and not because they want to bite.

Mine are thiers are not. Tita just got spayed at the end of January, she is a much better dog for it.

Here is a pic of one of the dogs that got into my yard (I think he is the brother of my puppy, Tita, he was the first puppy dumped in my yard and the next week she was dumped in my yard)

Unneutered big male dogs are scary--almost all serious attacks on humans or other pets were from unneutered male dogs.
Is there any way you can talk them into neutering, maybe help them find a low-cost clinic if money is an issue for them?
Another trick to keep dogs from digging is to put chicken wire or rabbit cage fencing or anything like that along the ground they like to dig in. You can still plant grass or small plans or whatever, but the dogs don't like the feel of it.
You could also put big rocks, ones that would be hard for them to move, in the hole.
