  1. I've always called it "elevator butt," but I'm sure there are other terms out there.

  2. Stupid as it sounds...before I new better I used to think they only did that when in heat. Dumb, huh? My Hannah May does that all the time. She's such a love bug too. I think your term works pretty good.

  7. When my brother and I were kids and our cat did it, we called it 5th position. I think I was learning ballet in gym class at the time.

  10. I call it the 'bow down', because my kitties always bow down when I do that.

On a somewhat related topic, does anybody a kitty that 'stands up and leans forward' to rub their heads on your palms when you outstretch your hand palm down? Maverick does that.

  11. Yes, Molly does that a lot. Or she will stand up with her front paws on my leg, while I'm at the computer, gently tap my arm, and when I turn to her, push her head forward under my palm for patting and head skritches. She closes her eyes while I'm doing that and starts to purr. It just melts my heart!

  12. It's called "caltitude". Anyone remember Rich Hall's sniglets? This is one of them.

  13. I like hydraulic haunches along with elevator butt. Sylvester does this. If you scratch at the base of his tail long enough, he tips over and wants his belly rubb. I call it his tip over button.
