  2. A vet has been unable to diagnose this? I have never seen anything like it.

  3. We don't have any vets who post here, DJ. Have you taken Yellow Mellow to a vet? Maybe some of the others who post here have cats who've had symptoms like YM has. Poor cat. What does he do that tells you he is in pain or uncomfortable?

  4. The ear looks awful. I'm alitle confused. Why does it read Zuco's broken ear under the photo if your cat's name is Mellow Yellow? It also seems that as bad as his ear looks that you wouldn't have already taken him to the vet. I do hope that you can get Mellow Yellow to the vet ASAP. He needs a proper diagnosis immediately.

  5. Thanks for reply guys!
I id took him to two vets but they said the same thing like you: never saw anything like it???
Somebody suggested and I'll take him to College of Vet Science if I can find it around Phoenix, AZ. I just don't have money for further tests, like tumor or cyst or something...
Well, thanks again. I was just hoping that someone in the whole wide world could recognize this.

  6. DJ, we are light here on the weekends but many more people will be logging on tomorrow and the next couple of days. I hope someone can help you.

  7. Catchoo, funny that you noticed the title of the photo. "Zuco" stands for Yellow in Serbian language. We call him both names (he's bi-lingual, you know) lol

  8. Thank you Catwoman,
I just need for somaone to recognize this, so I can figure out which direction to take. I wait for few days, it's nothing urgent. I just don't watn it to continue spreading.

  9. Mellow Yellow certainly does look mellow in that photo of him sitting up.

  10. DJ...I recommend you keep looking. Where are these vets located that you've taken Mellow to? You said somebody suggested. What did the two vets suggest you do? It seems if they were concerned about the welfare of your pet, that they would recommend somewhere or somebody else that could help your pet. If they told you nothing more than 'I've never seen anything like it',then I wouldn't recommend taking any animal back to either of them.

  11. Exactly my sentiments Catchoo. The Vets are in Anthem, AZ (Tramonto Community) and one on Bell Rd., North Phoenix. And none of them gave me confidence that they know what they are doing or that they really care to find out. However they were quick to assume sale of different vaccines and tests. In other words they didn't have any idea which direction to take so I'm taking him to Vet college on Friday.

  12. DJ...Thanks for clearing up the name question. It's really neat how I'm always learning new things on this sit. And now I just learned a new Serbian word. I don't want to put fear in you, with blistery look in the ear,it sure reminds me of cancer. I had a sweetheart of a feral cat show up on my porch one day out of nowhere. I named her Bunny. She was as white as snow, except the tips of her ears & the length of her tail were splashed in calico colors. A few days after she arrived I noticed some small eruptions on the tips of her ears & the top of her nose. Within 3 months I had to have her send to the rainbow bridge. It was cancer & it spread so quickly that by the end of that 3 mos. she had lost half her ear & the entire outside of her nose. She was the most beautiful little angel of a cat. I think you should go back to the vet and start asking some deeper questions. Good Luck with Mellow. Please let us know what you find out.

  13. I guess I didn't want to face that possibility, but the fact is that I got so upset over this, more or less cosmetic thing. I just have very bad feeling about it. And the cloak of mystery is not helping either. No one has ever seen this before! Crazy... So many cat lovers and couple of vets and nothing. But I mean - nothing at all.
    Vet college it is. Friday.
Thank you all for your concern. I'll post here what ever I find out on Friday.
If you find someone that has seen it before - please let me know.

  14. DJ...I'm sending Prayers your way that things for Mellow turn out okay. Thanks for sharing your dilemma with us here. I wish we could've done more to help.

  15. DJ, are their any signs of problems on the outside of the ears? What color are the outside of the ears?

Posted 3 years ago by BoogerMercurysMama #

  16. No. No problems outside of ears or anywhere else.

Somebody on other forum wrote that it looks like "Melanoma". It sounds to me like other word for cancer but he wrote that "will disappear on it's own".

Posted 3 years ago by DJHughMan #

  17. Dj...I don't want to sound grim, but, cancer does not disappear on it's own. I wish I had some way of helping you to get tests taken for Mellow. I'm caring for 21 kits & cats at all different stages of life right now & am desperately trying to catch the Snowshoe Siamese out there that's caused alot of this mess. It has virtually left me broke. I hope you find someway to get Mellow tested. After losing 1 beautiful cat to cancer,I don't ever want to see another cat go from that deadly disease again.

  18. Hematoma, not Melanoma sorry!

Posted 3 years ago by DJHughMan #

  19. DJ...One of my TNR cats outside suffered from a Hemotoma. He's turned out to be a Huge blk. & wht. Tuxie. Because I couldn't afford to take him to a vet, I had to let it drain on its own, with tragic results. His one ear is now crinkled downward from the damage done to the cartliage. If I were you,I wouldn't try to diagnose Mellow's problem & try to find some way to have tests done. Good luck.

  20. Hematoma means a bruise and it definately does not look like one.

Posted 3 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

  21. Your right Pipa's Mum...but some Hematomas can be bruises without breaking the outer skin, which is what happened in my case with Naughtyboy. I still say, only say, that it looks like possible cancer, but,I'm no vet.
