kmr and pedialyte help?!?!?!?

When making the pedialyte, do you add the kmr and pedialyte together. Replacing the water with pedialyte? My 1 week old kittens haven’t pooped in 4 days and I’m getting a bit worried and I’ve tried everything else but this. Any tips?

Lauren, have you tried just mixing the kmr with a higher proportion of water first? Otherwise, yes, just replace the water with pedialyte, but this is more for sick kittens than for constipated ones. Have you tried adding a drop or two of a vegetable oil (olive or rice bran or soya bean etc) to the formula? Click on the pink tags poop and constipation for more advice. Powdered KMR does seem to constipate kittens a little.

I tried a little drop of vegetable oil, but I don’t think it was enough to do the job. So I’m going to retry the vegetable oil first. They seem really happy and comfortable so I hope its just the powder.
