  1. Hi all...I am back at work abeit still sick but cannot afford to take any more days off. We sound like a TB ward at work with so many people sick and all the coughing, etc.

    KW, what a scare you had! I am very glad that your Mom is doing much better. Hugs, prayers and purrs for you and your family that she continues to do better.

    Susie, sending you some hugs and purrs. Hope things get better for you.

    I haven't had much of an appetite these past couple of days partially due to being sick and partially to having no sense of smell or taste which takes all the fun out of eating. So I will just take a nice cup of chicken soup and some wonderful guava juice. Sounds funny for breakfast but it might be all that I can keep in me.

  5. KW...I'm so glad to hear your Mom is doing so well

    Anncetera...I understand what your saying. The man/friend refuses to help in any way,shape or form. He won't even keep the one litter box in his adjacent bathroom clean or the water dish filled for Runt & her offspring Thumper & Spider. I've asked him to leave because all he is doing is deliberately getting in the way & stressing me more. But,he won't do that.He's got such a substance abuse problem going on that it would be too difficult for him to abuse them anywhere else. And because he feels (in his mind) that this is his place,he's not going to stray far from his bed when he is wasted. He's useless. And I just came in from giving Bootie,one of the ferals some antibiotics. He's the one I told you all about that has the dental problems & can only eat soft food. He stopped eating as of yesterday morning & his cheeks are both swollen. The only thing I can do for him is antibiotics. I'm using what I had left from what we were giving Cowboy . It expired last month,but,am hoping it will be potent enuf to end his infection. Instead of one dose,I'm giving him 1 & a half.

    2P...no can do with the sister's place. She's in a small park as well. If I don't have room in a 3-bdm. mobile,there would surely be no room there for them. Besides,if I leave this place(which someday I will) If I haven't been able to find a rescue who will or can help me,I'm sure I will leave by way of straight jacket or it will all kill me. Sorry for sounding so harsh,but,I don't necessarily believe in the "What doesn't kill you,makes you stronger" mentality. Otherwise I should have the strength of a hundred stubborn mule by now & don't.

  12. I just got thru e-mailing a hand full of you a picture of the feral Siameezer. She does exist. as you can see by her pose,she is starting to show her newest litter. God help me if I can't trap her before she has them.

  15. Hi HM! I am feeling better today. It all started last Sat with a scratchy throat and by that evening I was in full blown chills and fever. Spent all day Sunday and Monday in bed. Dragged myself to work on Tues but ended going home early. I stopped at the store and bought Theraflu and took it that evening. I spent all of Tues and Wed in bed. If I tried getting out of bed, the room would be spinning. Sylvester was my therapy cat with his cuddling up to me in my bed the whole time. Mia was too afraid of all my coughing to sleep on the bed. She slept on a chair in the living room, poor kitty. There are a lot of sick people in my department. Even the boss was out one day this week. Sylvester and Mia send headbonks and sandpaper kisses to HM. Hugs to Mav and Huddy.

  16. I'm glad you are feeling better. How did I know Sylvester was your therapy kitty. He's so big and loving. You must've had the flu. I'm scared of getting that - as it's really bad so I hear. I even had the shot and then found out that 2 strains of the flu aren't even COVERED. Please be extra careful, you don't want that stuff to come back on ya.

    This is why I keep a can of Lysol at my desk. Once they start all that hacking and coughing, I start spraying like crazy. I just took a day off, and I'm taking off 3 days when I move. I don't like taking sick days - so much so that I always end up carrying some over. I could be off for 2 weeks sick without touching my 2008 sick days. But I'll lose some of them this year if I don't take them all.

  19. I'm tired! Busy day at the office. Boss had to go to a friend's funeral mid-day, so the mood in the office is kind of down.

    I spent 1 1/2 hrs with an idiotic girl in tech support trying to get my new mp3 player signed up! I KNEW this would not work out for me. After that whole time, she just gave up! Great - nice waste of time!

    Oh, well, at least tonight I get to go out with a couple friends from the tournament, so that should be fun. Hopefully the ride hope will wake me up a bit!

  20. Have fun on your night out - getting out there will probably pep you up some.

    I feel like you do about the mp3 player - I don't have one, it just seems a little too complicated for me. I just use my personal CD player and make sure to pick CDs I know I can enjoy anytime - which is just about every CD I own tee hee.

  21. Yep, this thing, after I downloaded all the software, wouldn't let me sign in to get an account! The girl sounded like she had no idea what I was talking about. She told me all about how dirty her keyboard was, that someone was throwing oranges at her, that she had the hiccups - nothing really helpful to me!!! Grrrrr - I already looked at Amazon where I sell my books, how much I can sell it for! Great - I just got it yesterday, and I've already given up!

    Grrr - well, now I get to go home, so - Yay!

  29. I'll be going up to Fort Worth tonight, and will go shopping with my dad tomorrow (books, video games, that sort of thing, not clothes).

    And it will be the first time all week that I've seen my boyfriend, as he's been up in Fort Worth helping his brother with the beginnings of a divorce (long story there). So we might go out to dinner tonight, depending on how late it is when I get there.
