   My husband and I are having an Oscars party and everyone is to dress up
   as a character in a movie, not necessarily an Oscar-nominated one. It's
   going to be hilarious! I just hope we have Napoleon and Deb! I'm so
   glad the WGA strike is over and the Oscars will actually go
   forward!

   We're also going to get a new TV for the party and are debating about which one. I want this one:

   This is a good size, very reasonable. And it's only $999 at Costco.

   However, he's convinced we need this one:

   It's 60"- isn't that a bit gratuitous?! I think he's being excessive. It also costs twice as much as the 42"!

   I know that Vizio is a good brand and everything, and plasma is
   "supposedly" better, but he doesn't seem to think we can make do with
   "only" 42 inches. He is being very adamant. Any thoughts on how I can
   bring him to his senses?

   And who do you think will win Best Actress and Actor? These are my fave categories!

   My entertainment reporter predicts Daniel Day Lewis and Julie Christie get best acting nods. I'm rooting for Johnny Depp, though.

   Your husband sounds like a member of the "bigger is better" school of thought! I haven't paid much attention to the Oscars. I usually haven't seen all of the movies that have been nominated when Oscar time comes. Enjoy your party!

   I haven't seen ANY of the nominated movies - and am I bummed. As I am addicted, I will be watching. Have a great party, though. bbp, and welcome to TDK (Don't remember seeing you before).

   Party was great! TV was a hit! We did end up getting the 42" Vizio LCD rather than the 60" Vizio plasma. So it seems I was able to talk some sense into DH!! Kudos to me!
