Morning all! Hot steaming latte and cappucino ready to go! Biscotti and donuts to dunk. I got fancy this morning and made egg, ham and cheese souffle as well as lots of crispy bacon and croissants.

Eggs benedict and Pecan waffles coming right up! Best thing about a Cyber Cafe is that we have anything that you are hungry for and no calories! Eat up!

My mom used to make the egg souffle as a treat when we were growing up. It DOES smell wonderful and is so light and fluffy. When she would make it, it would usually be for dinner rather than breakfast and we would all stand around with our plates so she could cut and serve it as quickly as possible.

ppearson, it'd be great if I could have something high in caffeine! Anything! And a bacon, onion, broccoli & cheddar omelet, with a side of hash browns and toasted, buttered English muffins (with seedless black raspberry jelly). And more bacon, too, please.

There's a place in Vegas that makes THE BEST Eggs Benedict. Everytime I go there I get some. I also go ga-ga for those all-beef hotdogs that they serve at the Riviera. If you guys think I go to Vegas to eat and not to gamble - you're right. Actually I go for both.

HM, what makes the EBs so special? Do they do something different or is it just the taste?

It's just the taste. I never liked Eggs Benedict until I had it there.

I'll just have a bacon sandwich please, on soft white bread. Keep the eggs well away, I don't even like the smell. I once tried to make an egg sandwich for the man in my life - the smell was so rank I had to rush into the garden and come back into the house through the front door. He had to finish preparig the sandwich himself! (I hasten to add the eggs were very fresh, nothing wrong with them, they were just eggs. I HATE 'em!)

Well, Polly's Mum, we all have things we don't like, don't we? I absolutely abhor mushrooms, clams, oysters, (anything slimy), and coconut. Probably a few more things, too, but mainly these.

I can eat (and enjoy) all of those. I absolutely adore seafood, but I will admit to preferring my oysters cooked rather than raw, although I will eat them "au natur" occasionally.
I hate jelly, sweet and savoury. It's the texture thing, just as you said. And beetroot, whoever invented such a revolting vegetable?Posted 4 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_26/05 #
-
The only place I don't like jelly is in chocolate candy-that is revolting!
Beets? Oh, love them pickled. As a kid, Mom only gave us veggies that Dad liked, like potatoes, peas, carrots, corn, and, believe it or not, spinach.
Do you like liver? I love liver and onions.Posted 4 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

I adore liver, coated in seasoned flour and lightly fried, with the onions and served on mashed potato with a thick onion gravy OR grilled with bacon. Soul food.

I've never heard of liver being served any way as soul food. My mom never could get me to eat it after I tried it just once. Yucky.
I love pickled beets also. I dunno why.
I won't eat seafood either unless it's tuna. lol

HM, you just need to have it cooked properly. The flavour and texture is wonderful as long as it is not overcooked. Then it can turn out like very tough leather and it gets very "strong" in the flavour dept. as well.

My mother was a helluva a cook (everybody loved it when she made liver). I just don't eat organs is all.

On it's way. Do you prefer lambs' liver (my favourite) chicken livers (also VERY good) or pigs' liver. I refuse to serve Ox liver - not a good option.

Sorry apostrophe misplaced. I hate extra apostrophes where they shouldn't be, and now I've put one in. Sorry!

Come on HM, be a brave soldier and try again. Our taste buds change as much as we do. You'll probably love it now.

Um.....no. :)
No way have my taste buds changed THAT much.

I love liver and onions! The liver has to be sliced extremely thin, though. Gosh, that sounds so good--maybe I'll blow the dust off of a pan and make some. It's never as good in a restaurant as it is homemade.
My little nephew hated liver and onions until he ate my Mother's and we told him it was pork roast. He devoured it! To this day, he says he hates it, but we all know the truth!

Beets! Blech! I have never liked them. Other than beets the things that I can't stand are the things that I am allergic to. Cantelope, Honeydew, and Raw Onions. Even the smell of cantelope makes me gag. On the onion front, cook them and I am perfectly fine with them. It is the bane of my existance that so many places put onion in chicken salad, tuna salad, potato salad, salsa, etc. A lot of the times when I go out to eat at a casual restaurant a big portion of the menu is off limits because of the onions.

It's 9.00 p.m. here now, and it's supper time. Who fancies cold white wine (French Sauvignon Blanc), cold roast chicken with pickle and salad OR jacket potato with grated cheddar cheese.
