our mama cat dried up after about 3 weeks. I am bottle feeding all 7 of her kittens. They seem to be in distress especially when trying to poop. I’ve read about karo syrup and have tried just a tiny tiny bit. Any advice would be amazing and i would appreciate it a bunch!!

    What are you feeding them?

    Is it powdered or liquid?

How often are you feeding them?

Have you dried diluting their formula, or all natural olive oil? (I dont prefer vegetable as its not as clean)

    Hi

Kittens can start to be fed solids at 3 weeks.

Liquidise some kitten wet food, and a little of the kitten milk substitute (NOT cows milk) with some warm water. Put some of this on their paws, and a drop in their mouth.

Repeat this as often as you can, and you will find that all of a sudden they will be trying to bite your fingers! This is the time to put a small amount on a saucer and dip their nose in it. It may take a day or two, but they will soon be eating the ‘slop’ redily. Keep the slop going for about a week as they may not chew the chunks and could get food stuck in their mouth.

When kittens go to the toilet, especially number twos, they will meow ALOT and sound like they are really hurting. Well in truth they are! Little bottoms can sometimes have quite big loads to expell, but once they recognise their own signs of when they need to go, then they will get quieter.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

    Michele

Sorry I lost my password and just found it. I am feeding them a milk replacer called grade a ultra 24 multi species milk replacer. I am also letting mama feed to she wasn’t completely dried up but cant keep up with them. I haven’t tried to dilute it but I will now. I will try the wet food if diluting the milk doesn’t work because mama doesn’t really want anything to do with them i have to close the carrier door for her to stay and feed and then i let her out and she won’t go back i have to put her in so they can feed she’s trying to abandon them. Thank you for the advice!!! I will post as they progress :o)
