One of my dearest friends, actually more like a sister to me has been seriously sick now for almost 17 months and it is breaking my heart. Neal is one of the kindest hearted people that I know of and she had the strength and fortitude for 10 people. She has always been a severe asthmatic and those problems are expected, but half of her heart has swollen on to almost 2/3 the size of the other side, she has such trouble breathing now that she is constantly on steriods from hell and every asthma med that is concievable. She has been told that she is only able to use 10% of both lungs and eventually if she doesn't get better, that a lung transplant may be in line also somewhere in the future. They have also started her on allergy shots that the shot med itself costs about $1,000 per injection and its once monthly (Docs are hoping this helps with everything). She had to quit her job 17 months ago because she couldn't talk more than 5 mins at a time without having her energy spent for the rest of that day, and if she talked more than she was done for 2 + days in bed. I know and believe that everyone here has such kind hearts and goodness in their souls that if our energies being sent out, maybe she can even gain some of her former tremendous strength of spirit back.

AZDEB, I am so sorry for your friend, and am sorry you didn't talk about it sooner. Neither here nor there, I wish the best for your friend. Kay is asthmatic, too, and I worry about this happening to her. I hope your friend has comfort, and love, I am sure she has both. I pray for a transplant for her continued health, and prayers are coming non stop. Thanks for being a good friend, and our prayers are with you both. I am so sorry that your friend is so very ill. I will be keeping Neal in my prayers for healing, and that she will heal enough to get off some of those horrible meds and live a normal life.
