  1. Hi. A friend gave me the link about a month ago to TDK where I've been admiring wonderful kitten pictures every day since then.

I'm owned, supervised, and well trained currently by four wonderful kitties, two of whom have special medical needs. Tigger, Alice, Frisky, and Mandi are my precious cats. (Who needs a three ring circus for entertainment when you've got a four cat household!)

Thank you for all the lovely kitten photos that bring an extra smile to each day.

  2. Hi, Marnet. Welcome to the Daily Kitten! We all owe our thanks to the Kitten Master who chooses each day's special kitten. Many of us have created free web pages for our kits on Catster.com. You can then link the Catster webpage to your screen name here by editing your profile on TDK. Click on my screen name to see my two kits, Digit and Furl. :-)

You will find a wonderful community here of people who have a love of the cats we serve in common. We laugh, cry, play and support each other. Welcome to the kitty crew!

  3. Hi Marnet! Welcome to TDK..I have four kits too. They're all sibblings and will turn 1 next month. If you click on my name you'll find my furrbabies there on my Catster link. The first page will show Tuffy and in order to see the others you just scroll down to where it says My Family. You'll see thumbnail photos of the other 3. Just click on any one and you'll switch to their page. Hope you'll stick around..The people here have been some of the warmest, most helpful and fun that I've ever met. Welcome aboard!

  15. Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

I'll eventually figure out how to scan pics and post them. I'm a newbie at that part of computer technology. So for now I'll just tell you about my kitties.

Tigger is the old man of the crowd; he's at least 17 but the vet thinks he's closer to 20. He's known as Tigger the Terrible because he's terribly Tigger! A petite kitty, he is a gray tiger tabby with black stripes, including a royal stripe of office across his chest, and a tail tip obviously dipped in the ink pot! He has arthritis and chronic renal failure but still keeps on going like an energizer kitty.

Frisky and Alice are brother and sister littermates who acquired us at 10 weeks old and are now six and a half. The Ferocious Feisty Risky Frisky the Fang is the alpha male of the crowd, loves to literally bounce off walls, talks in a sweet boy soprano voice, has full possession of the home office (on top of the printer is a favorite locale) and is generally a sweet boy. He is white with black markings and tail. Think a saddle oxford color pattern.

His sister Alice the Outlaw Imp is black with white markings. Think a nun's habit in appearance but don't let the nun's habit fool you, she only looks innocent! She is a total high energy precious brat with an adorable snuggle purr.

Mandi is a seven year old rescue kitty who adopted me and brought me home when she was three. She had been turned back in by two previous families, supposedly due to allergies. But after I had her a short time it became clear she has inflammatory bowel disease and I think that's the real reason folks didn't keep her. All she needed was lots of love, patience, and a willingness to work at finding the right mix of food and meds to keep her comfortable and healthy. She is a Handy Mandi, always handy for love, and Mandi the Moocher because she is such a sweet love moocher. Her coloring is something of both tiger tabby and tortoise, with more tan and even a touch of red in her markings than Tigger. She and he are my tabby twosome.

    So, that's my babies.

  16. Marnet...Thank you for the wonderful descriptions of your furr babies..I can almost see them in front of me..They sound wonderful..and you are lucky to owned by them...

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  17. What wonderful detailed descriptions of your furry family. They all sound so sweet, can't wait to see their pretty little faces. I know it takes time, I'm not very good with computers, so with the help of my 12 year old son, we put our 7 on catster on a rainy Saturday. My son, has since been working on decorating their sites. So , have fun with it.

  26. "Hi Marnet! Welcome to TDK - the greatest bunch of people ever! You're going to love it here. By the way, your name is beautiful. What does it mean?"

Oh my gosh, I know this question is months old but I just now happened to go back and read my into post and replies to discover I never did read and answer the last few posts to this intro thread.

In answer to the name question, Marnet is my online moniker. I borrowed it from my mom who somehow came up with it years ago as her nickname used as a Girl Scout camp counselor. Her name was Margaret, so I suppose Marnet was some sort of evolution of that to use as her counselor nickname. I happen to like it and have used it as an online user name. My real name is Mary.

  27. Hi Mary and welcome to TDK. Somehow I missed this thread when you started it. You can see my kitties by clicking onto my avatar too! Are your cats on catster??

Posted 3 years ago by SammyandOliversmama #

  28. Thank you Sammyandoliversmama. You have beautiful kitties.

My cats aren't on catster. I don't have a digital camera and so far haven't gotten around to scanning in film photos of the darling beasties into the computer. I just haven't had time to mess with that. Eventually I will someday.

Right now I'm busy trying to find a job and deal with some time consuming issues with the cats, as I've posted last night on another thread asking for advice about.

Posted 3 years ago by Marnet #

  29. Welcome to TDK. Everyone in here is awesome. We look forward to seeing pics of your sweet babies. You will enjoy this site a great deal.

Hugs & Purrs from our house to yours!

  30. Thank you Lynnnmo.

Since finding TDK about a year ago, I've usually checked for the kitten of the day pic most days but only occasionally have time to actually read here on the forum, so I don't know folks yet.

However, given some great help I had last year from folks here regarding a cat care question, I've come to the well again seeking advice in the thread about multi-cat aggression issues.
