  1. What would you think about adding a section just for recipes and another just for book suggestions/reviews?

I know those things are included in various other threads, or available via email. But sometimes I remember seeing a recipe and/or book review and I want it right then. I just can't find it immediately. Then I get sidetracked reading everything else and forget what I'm looking for.

  2. ...and the subject of book reviews came up on the nightshift, could be expanded to include films too?

  3. Excellent idea.

  4. I also suggest a TDK fund / activities (e.g. the blankie project) thread.

  5. Just to clarify, I think we're talking about a few new theme headings which we can post under KM - easy or big headache?

  6. The TDK cafe thread was meant to be about food and recipes. It has also evolved into our morning place to chat. Maybe the morning chat threads could just be started under general chat. I remember MerD posting the TDK recipe file online somewhere so she could update it and we could download updates to it without her having to e-mail everyone each time. Does any have the URL for the TDK cookbook?

The feature I would like to see here is a better ability to search the text of our posts. It would help if we remember to put "tags" on our new threads too.

  7. Kitten Whisperer, I don't know if this will help but I have the address for the TDK cookbook. It took me to a website of choices for it.

I hope this helps or sends you in the right direction.

  8. I have not updated the cookbook in quite some time. :-(
I do wish I had the time.

  9. As KW said, the TDK Cafe is where recipes should go. I'll think about adding a TDK Arts section for books, films etc. Other sections are easy enough to add.

Would anyone like to see a 'Rainbow Bridge' section, a place to remember pets that have passed on?

  10. That's a nice idea KM, don't suppose there'd be the ability to upload pictures to include on such a thread?

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  11. MCW: It's possible, although allowing this does create other problems I'm not particularly keen to face - technical issues, mainly.

  12. Okey dokey, just thought I'd ask! Being technically inept, I have no idea how one things impacts on another ;-)

  13. hi km and fellow tdk'ers - i would like to see a book section if possible and i think a rainbow bridge section would be a wonderful way to pay tribute to all the little ones that have passed on. whatever is decided is perfectly ok, the site as it is right now, is purrfect, bringing feline and other animal lovers together. thanks km, for all your efforts to create and maintain this wonderful place. best regards, bobby - n.y.c.

  14. I am going to bring this back up for us to approach the KittenMaster with a proposed forum addition:

    THE TDK PROJECTS FORUM

The idea is to consolidate the recurring projects that since the TDK CHAT is so active rapidly become difficult to access.

I believe it should have a header topic or two pinned to the top of the forum provided such pinning does not interfere with what I will call the Main Chat Room Lobby

We currently have the TDK FUND and associated CHESTER's PLACE as our adopted charity. The Blankie project went well and could be revisited from time to time. Chester's Place is not the only shelter that could benefit from Blankies.

And while it was a recent proposal from Emma that was not commented on in the Roxy files, there is the possibility of the implementation of a ROXY ALERT. This one would be tricky as we unfortunately cannot save them all. Still the idea has merit and should be discussed and ground rules agreed upon for the criterion for issuing such alert. Roxy was such a poignant example ...abandoned with all her possessions on death row no less.

While there are many proposed additional forums, I feel that this one is of vital interest to the group as a whole.

    What say you all?

  15. It's got my support.

  16. Oh yes I would love to see a Roxy alert...I also agree with KM suggestion on a Rainbow Bridge section...

  17. Me, too - on all of it. Love the Roxy Alert, Art forum and Rainbow Bridge idea and the project one as well. Good ideas!

  18. Great ideas!

  19. Let us please continue this discussion.

It seem the most popular Forum Divisions are

THE TDK PROJECTS FORUM for the TDK fund, projects and if implemented ROXY ALERTS

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE MEMORIAL FORUM for rememberances of our furry friend who have gone before us.

    And

THE ARTS FORUM for books, movies and cultural activities.

Does anyone have ideas to further the implementation of these new Forum Topics or ideas on establishing criterion for issuing a ROXY ALERT?

  20. These are all great ideas. I do like the Rainbow Bridge idea a lot. Elizabeth

  21. As far at the Roxy alert goes; what about setting up certain members, if they would like to volunteer, to keep abreast of these, maybe divided by area of country. JUST AS AN EXAMPLE: Dee in Tampa is one such person and she checks the ASPCA website (or whatever sites she chooses) for just such cases as these, then issues a Roxy alert. Dividing in geographical chunks, limits the number of alerts and also gives everyone on TDK an idea if they are in an area to help with immediate rescue, transport or whatever. If one person from TDK is in charge of each area that means only half a dozen or so would be able to post such an alert. If our overseas family would like to set up such a network in their areas that would be up to them, to decide if they have enough members in their area to support such an endeavor. Of course, after an alert is issued then all members could support in whatever way they wish--financially or physically (such as Tigerlily did in taking kitties to CA). Just an idea--maybe someone else can expand on it.

  22. Should the "Roxy Alert" include Alerts issued by the TDK fund administrative committee to call for assistance for special needs inside the community where the current resources are too limited?
Say for example a sudden catastrophic illness or accident to a member's kitty?

Posted 3 years ago by ailuromaniac #

  23. ailuromaniac..It looks to me like you've done a beautiful job of dividing the Forums. I can see the need for all of them. I don't see any reason why the 'Roxie Alerts' can't include any situation the TDK committee happens to come upon requiring additional help for a member with a dire need of assistance. We've already witnessed the generosity of so many TDKers with funding in the past and to simply post 'Calling All TDKers'...would be an automatice heads up for anyone able..to submit contributions toward "whatever crisis" ..There may be some things we can't accomplish but I've seen absolutely amazing commaraderie performed on this Forum. God Bless you KittenMaster!!! You really do Rock!! So does the TDK committee!!!!
