  1. Cead mille failte (a hundred thousand welcomes)! The TDK Roller Rink is now reopening after a long hiatus. Tonight being Saint Patrick's Day, the music will be strictly Irish. From U2 to The Cranberries, from Sinead O'Connor to Samantha Mumba, the DJ will be playing the coolest Irish music for the next two hours. The first person of at least 1/4 Irish descent who knows which band Phil Lynott played for will get a pint of Guinness and some black pudding from the snack bar.

  2. Yoo hoo, mad scramble of kitties to get their gear on!

  3. Thin Lizzy! My grandfather was from Dublin and moved to NZ. And my daughter has an Irish name. I'll take the Guinness but leave the black pudding.

Dara and Spike want a musical request - Goats Don't Shave - from Donegal.

And Phil Lynott also played on Jeff Lynns War of the Worlds album.

  4. Oh, my girls are buckeling up their skates. But they want to start slow and stretch those little muscles. Maybe some Enya to warm up with?

  5. KapitiKats, enjoy your pint; I'll donate the sausage to the Irish wolfhound who's working security at the door. You also get "Goats Don't Shave" by Donegal while WWM gets "Orinoco Flow" by Enya.

  6. Ruggles is wearing his shamrock boppers on his furry head, Rotley has a lovely emerald green bowtie and silk handkerchief tied around one forepaw, and both lads are pleading for ANYTHING by Secret Garden.

I'm bringing some more glazed shortbread, and a chocolate mint dobosche torte.

And welcome back, Vicki! Missed you, girl!

  7. Dara has chased a leprachaun under the seating area and would like some help from other kitties to extract where it keeps its pot of gold.

  10. Ruggie and Rots are on their way. Ruggie, however, has been searching for Willow and Windi. Are they anywhere nearby?

And Tikka just zoomed by in a sequined outfit.

    Tell Dara to hold on!

  11. Warning - someone has spiked the kitties milk with Baileys! Cheri?

  12. Whoo Hoo Thin Lizzy!! Who doesn't love them

Thanks for reopening the rink, Vicki.

*puts rollerblades on Mavvy and Huddy*

  13. These images of skating kitties, with all their headbands, wristbands, and such, zooming around the rink, have me in stitches! I can see them so clearly and wish I could transmit them to some type of media, but alas, have no skills at such. Just in my imagination. The little groups of giggling girl kitties, the trying to be so macho boy kitties showing off, a bench over their with moms fitting skates on their little pawsies - which reminds me, would they be skating on all fours, or just on their back paws?

  14. Ok.. Ok... Pipa nad Melon have never been to a roller rink, be kind with them on their first round...

*gently pushes Melon and Pipa to the roller rink*

Pipa is wearing a pink leotard and leg warmers, Melon just a t-shirt and boxers...

  15. See what I mean? Marina, I can see Pipa so clearly! But she needs a pink sweatband to match! And Melon is making zoom noises as he spots his buddies!

Posted 4 years ago by paulajeanne #

  16. Hey! You really CAN see them paulajeanne!!! Pipa lost her pink sweatband in her aerobics lesson, I'm going to have to buy another one...

  17. Willow and Windi saw Ruggles and Rots, Emma. But the boys were skating way to fast and the girls are scared! They pleaded for new and more fashionable skates so now they are sporting skates that sparkle as they glide along. Windi keeps tripping over the tutu with the flowy train that she insisted on having. I didn't think it was a very good idea!

  18. Bog is dressed rather conservedly with a t-shirt and shorts (t-shirt says "Love me! My mom is Irish!)

Tiger is dressed like Will Ferrell in "Blades of Glory"

  19. Huddy and Mavv have on Wrestlemania jerseys and jeans (none of that sagging stuff, mama makes them wear a belt). Mavvy is wearing a baseball cap that says NYPD, while Huddy is wearing a bucket hat.

  20. Fred and Cricket are joining the party. Fred is dressed in green spandex from head to toe, with an opening to show his chest hair. He also has a helmet on. with cool black sparkly skates.
Cricket, is in a purple haltertop with pink and purple striped short shorts. She has cool pink skates and is chewing some bubblegum.
    Off we go....

  21. And what's Bosley doing? He's lying on his back, spread-eagled, in the center of the rink---he's just supervising, as usual! His neck is getting sore, though, because he's having a hard time continually turning his head in the 180 degrees needed to keep an eye on everyone!

Posted 4 years ago by FondaHonda #

  22. Oh, Cricketsmama - that is hysterical!!!! Fred is showing his chest hair?? I can't stop laughing! Please tell me that he isn't wearing lots of gold necklaces!!

    Bubblegum - love it!

  23. Are there any special arrangements for elderly cats? Bones says he'd have a go, but only if you can fit rollerblades to his zimmerframe...

Posted 4 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  24. Hi, MCW!!!!! I'm sure that Vicki can come up with something. Maybe a little walker that Bones could use for support as he tried out his skates. :-)

Posted 4 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  25. Well, the elderkitties can take it slow on our slow track, which accomodates any special mobility devices they may need.

Posted 4 years ago by Vicki #

  26. He says he'll try when he's finished his nap. It could be a while... ;-)

Posted 4 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  27. Hey, paulajeanne, just as scratch-and-sniff TV has not yet been invented, thought-wave film has not yet been invented, either. If I had thought-wave film transmitting my thoughts and fantasies, I'd win so many Academy Awards, Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorcese would both be jealous.

Posted 4 years ago by Vicki #

  28. I'm with Bones, MCW - when in doubt, nap!

Posted 4 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  29. Oh, Bosley!

Posted 4 years ago by HuddysMama #

  30. Napping is good!! Siestas should be compulsory!

I'm not telling our other three about the roller rink just yet. Button would be fine, but Eric may be a tad boisterous, and the carnage and chaos Pickle would inflict by insisting on dragging her tickler around with her (they're insperable) doesn't bear thinking about...
