Praying for you, granddad and the rest of your family. Remember, even though you will be mourning, he will be happy.
Also don't be afraid to mourn, it is right to miss and mourn for our loved ones. Don't bottle it up.Posted 4 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_26/05 #

Hope MM is ok.
You're right Pollys_Mum, it's right to miss and mourn loved ones. I had to learn that the hard way.

MM - You are in my thoughts and prayers. As the others have said, while you will mourn and will miss him, he will be in a better place and will not be in pain anymore. How wonderful too, that he was able to see all those folks from the other side who had come to help him over. He will be with all of them and happy now.

Thank you all. The hospice people thought it would be Friday. Then his vitals were actually better on Saturday. They upped his pain medications so that he is more comfortable and less agitated. He is seeing people in his room that passed away years ago. He asked my aunt about the baby she miscarried. It's been a pretty emotional ride for all of us.

MeezerMama, this has to be hard on the family, bless all of you. At least you know that he will be joining others when he does cross, they are coming in check on him (my opinion on why he sees the ones who have passed before).

We all kind of feel like we are just in a holding pattern. We've said our good-byes. We are as ready as we can be. Not that any of us wants to lose him, but this is really awful. I hope none of you ever have to do this

MeezerMama, I'm sorry you're having to go through this. I'm sure it's not easy on your granddad, either.
Hospice care is a blessing, but even so, it can be fraught with several back & forth episodes like this. It's hard to deal with, especially when all you want is for the person you love to find relief from suffering.
I hope and pray your granddad soon has a peaceful transition, surrounded by the love of his family members, both present and departed.

Oh, this is so hard on the family MeezerMama. A great big virtual hug to you. Some say that when the person is ready, he/she will go. Perhaps GrandDad has one more person to see or he's waiting for a quiet, alone moment and will slip silently and peacefully away with all those that he sees and communicates with that you cannot.
I pray for a peaceful passing.. no matter when it happens.

meezermama sorry aboput your granddad. I am sure they told you there is usually a rally before they move on. I have worked as a nurse in termial care for over 20 years and it hurts to lose EVERY one of them and the family becomes your family too. I pray that he is comfortable ,He will be with God soon. and you will have one more angel watching out for you!!!!

My prayers are with you and your family.
I have been there, I sat for nearly two weeks with my Mum, and then she died while I was away from her bedside, sitting in a traffic jam on the motorway trying to reach her.
Remember that Grandad will want you to be kind to yourself, so take time to rest, eat and though it's hard laugh.Posted 4 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_26/05 #
