  11. I am diabetic, but my diabetes dr. would far rather me have a little bit of sweet once in a while instead of getting frustrated and sit down and inhale a half gallon or more of ice cream...

and my pain management doctor allows me one real root beer float per month...so it isn't fun all the time, but some is better than none !!!

  12. the answer, Karenopa, is in the realm of physics...

  13. I just found this thread and I want to try all of them! Yum! Yes it isn't fair how 3 oz of chocolate can translate to 2 lbs on us.

  14. I'm not much of a chocolate eater (it's not that I NEVER eat it, just not much) but does anybody here ever make Rice Krispies treats with Cocoa Krispies? I've never tried them or even seen them, it just seems like those would be much tastier than the regular ones.

  15. SMM........For shame, for shame, for shame.....not really, I must have missed the thread first time around. You are a good chocolate sleuth!!! :) Funny when I first read the replys, I thought Sharon is back posting..... then saw it was started 3 months ago. Like the cheese thread....some are worth repeating!!

  16. I know what you mean Cheri about the sweets. I do that too. I eat small servings of sweets on occassion, nobody believes me. I'd rather eat a small bite than gorge on a whole bag of something. I do that with Hershey's kisses, a few is better than none! Can you have diet puddings? Jello makes a great sugar-free cheesecake pudding without all the calories. It makes a great cheesecake too. I am a diabetic too, have been all my life for 43 years. The way I bake my cakes I can have a slice for supper. I find if I don't have a small piece, my blood sugar gets low before time to eat again! I am always looking to experiment with recipes or come up with my own for a variety.

  17. Huddy's mama, I've made chocolate crispies long before they posted the recipe with coco krispies, they were good! I want to make some with coco crispies and chocolate marshmallows, chocolate chips and then maybe dip them in some chocolate sauce that hardens like the shell on ice cream cones. Now, I've made peanut butter krispies, YUM! I'm a food addict, ironic being a diabetic! :)

  18. Those chocolate crispies sound so good Renee. I didn't know if they even existed, but I've always thought they would be tasty if they weren't some figment of my imagination.

  19. Huddy's mama, you can buy a variety pack of Rice krispies treats, they are good but nothing sometimes beats cooking them yourself! :)
Especially melting the marshmallows and watching them swell in the microwave!

  21. I use marshmallows, rice crispies, and a bit of butter, that's sweet enough for me. If I want peanut butter crispies, I just use the original recipe and add 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter. If anybody wants the recipes, I'll post it for you. I haven't tried to make any strawberry crispies yet.

  22. 12Pawz, the recipe you listed sounds like the experience of making homemade popcorn balls, quite sticky! :)

Posted 3 years ago by Renee in Arkansas #

  23. 12Pawz...Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm..I had a recipe very similar to yours only I formed them into individual balls. I lost the recipe so I'm copying yours down. It sounds the same only mine didn't call for the chocolate chips.

  24. Karen.....I confess to have never made the rice krispies bars.....but the addition of chips and peanut butter........ will be hitting the cereal aisle tomorrow!!!!
