  1. Thought I'ld better get this started:
Welcome to night shift all tdkers, KM and lurkers.
Come on in have stay awhile - lurk first, if you must.
The bar is now open, all the fountains are running.
And the place is spotless (unlike my house).....

  2. Been a long day following a long weekend. Still have 45 minutes left at work, then off to the gym. A large virtual Captains and Coke please !

  3. Hi 2P, I'm back to work after 3 days off, and it didn't seem like 3 days off.

Here you go: Captains and Coke (whatever that is).....

  4. I was feeling a deep need for a beer...had bought a fun bottle to honor my son on his 21st birthday--Monty Pythons Holy Grail Ale, "tempered over burning witches"

Since his birthday isn't till April 4th, I decided I have time to replace it with another...or maybe moms shouldn't encourage drinking anyway?

    It's good!

  5. Should mention that my son is a Monty Python fan.

  6. Hi CW! Are you going to the meetup after all????

Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

  7. Yes, it looks like I am!

  8. artistabobbi... Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum mixed with Coke. I'm a fan of 'sweet' drinks.

CW... I couldn't bring myself to do that with my sons. It has to do with having divorced their alcoholic father, and my older son having been in inpatient rehab at age 17. Just wasn't right in my world.. which is not to say it's not right in yours. Wish mine had been different. :) And if wishes were nickles, I'd be rich.

  9. 2P, I would never do such a thing with my wild child second son. As for my straight-laced firstborn, he will probably keep the bottle unopened and on a shelf as decoration. At least, until his younger brother is home from college and sees it!

  10. CW did they find someone to replace you at the Lancome event?

I would love some Irish coffee! It's going to be in ther 40's tonight - VERY exciting for South Florida! I was worried the winter had come and gone. This should mean two snuggling kitties tonight as my place don't have heat.

  11. If wishes were fishes we could walk on the sea.
If wishes were horses all beggars would ride.

hmmmm.... I'm out, those are all the ones I know :)

  12. Just popping in for a quick hello - hello!

  13. CW - I understand completely. Since all the issues with my ex, I even find it difficult to have a drink! And I've always been a tea-totaller. I will not drink if I am going to drive.... ever. Older (wild child) son went down that road too. *sigh*

  14. HELLO, MCW~ Hi Instinct!!!

GD, I have not heard back from the Lancome people...the thing is, as a contract worker they offer me the hours and I take them or not (though I usually take them.) The freedom to say no to a day of work is one of the perks one gets from doing without things like health insurance and regular hours. Though, they have been very good to me and I'd be SOL if they never offered me hours again...therin lies the dilemma. :-)

  15. Hi mcw and insinct.

I'm with you 2P. Fortunately none of my kids went that route.

  16. No heat at all, GD?????
The last several weeks, we have had the heat on one night, the air on the next. The weather has hopped around (like the proverbial bunny) from the 80s to the 30s ........

  17. bobbi, same here! I got sunburned on my porch last week...this week it is below freezing again and I brought the plants in!

Posted 3 years ago by Catwoman #

  18. it's been a steady 60 degrees out here all last week, which was also spring break for us :D

  19. We had a White Easter in many parts of the UK (not where I am, we just got sleet and hail!)

  20. My son in Minnesota, and my friend in Wisconsin both said it was snowing up there yesterday....

Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

  21. see, it's that global warming.... :D

Posted 3 years ago by Instinct #

  22. We had a few snow flurries here in Georgia today. This is CRAZY. The daffodils have already bloomed and faded.

  23. Hi Bobbi. I rent the back part of the house and the two Chinese people that live in the main house never turn on heat - or AC (which is far worse!). I suppose I could go in there and turn some heat or air on, but I'm sure they'd just turn it back off. Strange to live like that!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  24. No AC in FLORIDA?!?!

Posted 3 years ago by Catwoman #

  25. I guess it's all in what you are accustomed to GD.

Instinct, I already had that conversation with my Minn son, my ultra conservative Minn son, at that....LOL

Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

  26. You must have raised him right then bobbi :D

  27. CW, When I was growing up in NewOrleans, we NEVER had air. We used window fans, and hammered a lot of ice cubes into crushed ice.

Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

  28. Smart butt!!!!

Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

  29. We did not have AC when I grew up in NJ. We used to take hot showers in summer (because the air felt cool when you got out) and cover ourselves in baby powder. We ran through the sprinkler a lot.

Posted 3 years ago by Catwoman #

  30. There was no air when you were a kid bobbi??? Then what did you breath?

    *laughs at his own humor*
