Mornin' Helen-when you mentioned "The Mess", it made me think of a place in Pennsylvania I used to go to when I was on the road picking up furniture in PA.
It was one of those roadside diners, maybe looked like a railroad car, and they had the best breakfasts. One of their items was the "Big Mess", and it lived up to its name. It was a mixture of eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon, potatoes, onions, anything you could name, and so absolutely HUGE that I had to take part of it with me when I left. Oh, what memories that brings back!Posted 4 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

I'll take "The Mess" w/no gravy. I make a 'mess' as well. Bacon, potatoes, cheese, eggs over easy and refried beans. Then there's the 'world famous' which is a piece of toast with cheese, sausage on top of the cheese and eggs over medium on top. Add some tabasco, grab and knife and fork and prepare to be stuffed like a thanksgiving turkey.

Sure Ppearson here it goes.
Just remember that Spanish cooking is different than American and we use oil instead of butter. Trust me it tastes good, try it, it is very healthy.
2 Eggs
200gr sugar
1 glass of milk
1/2 glass of olive oil
1 spoon full of baking powder
250gr flour
200gr of chocolate chipsYou beat the eggs with the sugar, you add the milk, then the oil and you keep mixing. Then add the baking powder mixed with the flour. Mix until smooth and add the chocolate chips.
You put the mixture in small muffin paper molds but not to the top! Leave an inch empty.
Pre-heat oven and the introduce them for about 25 min. in 180ÂșCEnjoy!!

For the Milk and Olive Oil how big is the glass? Do you measure liquids in ounces? The grams I can convert but not sure how much is in a glass over there.

Oh Ppearson! I'd say a drinking glass for water but here in Spain there is an average size for that, I've seen that in the States you have HUGE glasses.
It is a bit less than 1/4 of a Litre. Does that help? It is just that we measure liquid in litres... :(
The spoon is a desert spoon... but I'm sure you guessed. Tea spoon it's called?
I guess I better start converting before I add any more recipes!!!Posted 4 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

NorthernLilly, that is how I like my coffee - chocolate with a hint of coffee. Hi my name is Karin and I am a chocoholic. I absolutely love chocolate. I even applied for a job at the Ghiradelli chocolate company as an administrative assistant. No response to my application. Darn.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest coffee fan but my boyfriend and his family are major coffee drinkers. They laughed when they found out that I was an assistant manager at a dunkin' donuts last year for my second job. I don't love chocolate too much, but I love hot chocolate oh yes!

I know what you mean by work interfering with personal lives (I have to add school with my work to do that) haha. I tell my coworkers that I can't wait to find a job that I have nights and weekends free after I graduate college so I can spend a little time being my age instead of always doing housework, homework, and miserable work that i actually get paid for! haha
I saw you mention before your eldest is away?

Yes, he is in Phoenix now, working. He plans to stay there until June, and then come home to school. At least, that is his plan, but it may change.
I hope you do get to be your age, soon. My husband said I was on the 10 year plan when I was in college. I went when I had time and in the middle of all that I raised my kids, worked full-time, and did the whole family routine, not an easy route, but I'm living proof that it can be done. Now I work, and go home and enjoy myself, so much easier!! If you need encouragement to keep going, just ask! It was great meeting you NorthernLilly, I hope we can talk again, soon. -
Hehe thanks Boyzandme :)
