We are going to have a meetup here next month, and if any TDKer wants to come to the house, the way it is right now, I would be sooooooo embarrassed.

I bet your house doesn't look much different than anyone else's, Bobbi! :D
Hubby pointed out to me tonight that we have lots of cat hair everywhere. I told him that is probably because we have cats. (I think he'd like me to brush the long-haired one! Time to get after her with the Furminator!!)

Oh, you have NO idea!!!!
We have a path through the trash/mail/clothes/etc.etc. on the floors. Not nearly as bad as that lady's house last night, but bad enough. At least the beds (such as they are) are available, and you can sit, and we can get into the kitchen, and there aren't piles of dirty dishes everywhere. I have threatened Barbi with turning our name in to "How clean is your house".
That is one of the major contentions I have with her.We both tend to be pack rats, too.....

Is it unusual for long-haired cats to not have an undercoat?

Usually long hairs have undercoat. It tangles, and creates mats and I don't know what else, since all of our household pet cats have all been short-haired, I'm not experienced with that.

Awwwww. She doesn't need to be..... They can come and play anytime. My cats may look elegant, but, believe me - they don't ACT elegant. They are mischief personified.

My friend in Houston says they are bigoted. If they are around other cats, they only like to play with other balis.

It's 10.30pm, seeing that the room is quiet, the hour is late. . . let the closing begin gratis AZDEBRA, LV, & Tigger begin....good job everyone & bless you...
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box
check - windows open for the southern hemisphere TDKers ,and shut tight for the northern hemisphere TDKers.Goodnight to all the imaginary friends in TDK land, g'night Debra, goodnight Erin and Jimmy. White energy for all those in need. And let us treat the world gently this day.A special HUG for Tigerlily for her selfless actions and special TDK white light to Roxy, you'll be home soon.
