  1. Hi all,

The Bobster is being a bad boy!

Yesterday I brought him back some nice chicken from my lunch - no thank you, Mama!
This morning at work, little guy hops on my desk, fishes a rubber band out of my pencil holder and triumphantly takes off with his prey! When I caught up with my little hunter, he had just a little piece of rubber band left hanging from the side of his mouth - ate the rest! Arrrrgh!

I stopped in at the vet's office next door and he said to keep a close eye on the Bob, his eating and his litterbox visits.

Do you guys/gals have any other advice?

  2. Just went through something similar with 11 wk old Davidson (one of my fosters) and he is 100% now. If he starts throwing up his water and/or food you should then be worried, and can start some intervention. Wait and see for now.

  4. Great Dane, I have Lil Girl who steals & eats rubber bands if I don't catch her soon enough. So far hasn't done anything to her physically, I am sure mentally that it bothers her about her 'prey' being kept from her.

  5. Never had a problem but to be safe, we keep them all safely locked up in a drawer. The vet's advice is what I would have said as well.

  6. Thanks, everybody - Bob's sleeping it off in his chair!
I can't tell yet whether or not he'll eat, as he tends not to eat until night time, and he doesn't want to use the litterbox in the office unless he REALLY has to go - it's not a fancy covered one like the one at home! Spoiled little man!

  7. Spoiled? Bob? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Sounds like he'll be ok. Just watch him and keep the rubber bands away, though sometimes that's hard because they find stuff EVERYwhere. My cats have pulled stuff out from under the couch that I had no IDEA even existed - lol.

    *hugs to sleepytime Bob*

You gotta take some recent pictures so I can see how big he is now. I'm sure the Catster pics don't do him justice.

  8. Camera broke, but I'm going to get a new one and new Bob pictures for Catster.

  9. Great Dane, Gracie is a rubber band fiend and will eat them in a heart beat. She will even open drawers to get at them. I ususally find them in the litter box. Unless he starts acting sick and throwing up he will probably pass it. If you have some of the hairball stuff that will help it along. Gracie also will eat ribbon, string, dental floss and anything else of that nature if left to her own devices. That is why when I give presents they no longer have bows, why I tie my used floss into knots and tie recreational cat string off to the knobs on dresser drawers and door handles.

  10. Bob passed up a piece of chicken for a rubber band?!!! Chloe is jealous. She'd kill for a piece of chicken (and perhaps even kill the chicken herself).

  11. Gracie sounds like a trip, ppearson!
    Yay, Gracie, hugs to you!

  12. Yay, found rubber band in litter box over the weekend! Fun activity for a rainy weekend: fishing through your kitty's litter box!
When I came home yesterday, though, little man had been chewing on Mama's flowers and thrown up twice. He threw up once more later. Bad Bobby! He's better now, though, ate and drank during the night and kept it down!
He was also well enough to play with Cat Dancer last night until he was panting and hanging out his tongue! I really have to get a new camera - I'd love to get a picture of him, mouth open, tongue hanging out! (though I'm not sure he's let me take it!)
