i am still sick with bronchitis.
i need someone to keep changing my bed linen...
keep feeding me nourishing foods...
make me take green tea, garlic, cider vinegar, vitamin c tablets...
read to me...
the kitties will sleep and cuddle with me as long as I am not too loud...
please help...

Cheri, like 2p and cricketsmama, I am just too far away. I know how it is when you are sick and just wish for someone to be the caregiver. I think it is when we all miss our mothers the most. When you don't feel well the thought of even going into the kitchen to heat some soup can be overwhelming.
Is there a neighbor or co-worker who could drop in? In the meantime, I send you all of my best nursing skills, but virtually. I wish that I could help care for you in person so that you would be on the mend soon. {{{{hugs}}}}

Poor Cheri, wish I could help you too! It has been times like this when lying in bed, I can be heard whimpering, "I want my mommy". 5 years ago when I had a hip replaced, my 80 yr old mommy did come and take care of me for two months of recovery! Felt very lucky but also felt as if I was only 5 years old from the way she treated me! So, Cheri, if virtual mommies can be of help, can I say, "sweetie, here let me tuck you in, Velvet, you tuck yourself over here, and Spice, why don't you curl up on that side. There, everybody comfy? Mom will go make you a nice refreshing drink now".

*steps in from doing her homework to bring Cheri some soothing homemade chicken and dumplings on a tray with a big glass of orange juice... feels her forehead to make sure she doesn't have temperature and then gives the kitties each a small bowl of chicken so they don't bother Cheri for her food.*
Get well soon, Cheri. If I had time, I would stay to read to you for a while, but I have an essay to write.

*quietly slips into the room with a thermos full of green tea and a cup ... sees that Cheri is sleeping and puts the tea and the cup on the nightstand where Cheri can get to it. Carefully, she takes away the tray with the empty bowl and glass and picks up the empty bowls from beside the quietly sleeping kitties. Softly sneaks out of the room so she doesn't wake Cheri up.*

WWM slips in and hears that the Kenny G music is playing softly. She peeks in on Cheri and finds that she is still peacefully snoozing. WWM has brought a huge pot of something that is guaranteed to make Cheri feel better quickly - caldillo, which is a Mexican stew made of beef, potatoes and freshly roasted poblano peppers. WWM has used peppers from Hatch, NM because they are the absolute best. She leaves a packet of freshly made flour tortillas in Cheri's kitchen, and a note to remind her to heat them.
One last thing - a glass of just squeezed tangerine juice by Cheri's bed. And a favorite book, Bill Bryson's "In a Sunburned Country". It is guaranteed to make Cheri laugh and laughter is the best medicine. Then back through the wormhole.

*quietly steps in and sees that plenty of food and juice have already been brought in for Cheri. Sets bottles of vitamin C and garlic tablets next to the glass of tangerine juice. Softly calls the kitties into the kitchen and gives them each a dish of food and makes sure they have fresh water in their dish. After the kitties are finished eating, she pets the purring babies and leads them back into the room where they curl up by Cheri to keep her company and go to sleep. She looks around to see if anything else needs to be done then leaves as quietly as she came*
