    I'm going to possibly take the spring course on wild life rehab. It's a bit pricey $650 but then i'll be called when i'm needed to help an animal! I have almost an acre here and a 3 carrage garage and a huge shed! I want to help the animals My friends call me Dorie dolittle! LOL

    Agway(Feed and weed store) sells them and several places sell them on the web! They also sell lady bugs There natural aphid eaters farmers want them for there crops!

  9. Wish I could stay and play. Have to go gas up my car and get groceries (cat food) and then laundry and to pack. I have a work function Friday nite in Estes Park (in the mountains). I'll be back Saturday afternoon. You guys behave yourselves..... :-) (Or not) Laters

  10. Wanna hear a funny story?

    While subbing yesterday at Rucker elem. On my way to check out for the day and came across a taeacher I meet earlier. SHe was wearing a cream or tan color skirt and she looked down and screamed and started to jump around. While she and the other teacher had been talking a walking stick bug tried to get in side her class and she had us move him but he kept going back. So she closed the door. While they continued to talk it crawled towards her unnoticed and climbed up onto her skirt blending in. We where getting ready to part ways so we all looked around for him and as she looked down her skirt moved she screammed jumped and tried to flick it of her skirt but he was liked a true cowboy. He held on the full 8 seconds and some. Once we calmed her down we entle took him off her skirt and relocated him to near by tree and bush.

    lol too funny tears rollin g down cheeks the whole time we were helping her.

  11. No I live on the North shore of Long Island. But my property boarders An historic farm and the power lines, So I get all animals in here!! During the summer I looked out and sheep were eating my flowers, they had broken down the back fence and dined on my plants. I herded them up in the back with a bell and carrots and fixed the fence!! Then went over and let the farm know what happened they put a stronger fence up!!

  17. We tried raising chickens, but it we did not have a fence high enough, and the neighborhood dogs did 'em in. Too bad, too, We had them named : Paul and Art (roosters) and the Dixie Chicks.

    when I worked on the farm. we had chickens and 5 Jack Russels not a pretty mix when the chickens got out of the pen it was quick catch the dogs!

    Dorie, that is really exciting about the box turtles nesting in your yard. Way cool!!! I LOVE to hear stories like that. :)
    When I lived in NJ we always had chickens roaming about. Bantums, leghorns, brown ones too (can't think of what they are called?) We had an attack rooster too. He would not let prople out of their car when they came to visit. They would sit out there and honk. He was black and white and rather handsome, but mean!!
