  1. Thanks Deb. My allergies have been HORRIBLE this spring so far. Everything is running, so I have been taking benedryl to help combat them but only in extreme cases.

  2. CM, have you tried a Neti pot? My allergist swears by them, I have tried it a couple of times and find that using distilled water is best, supposedly once you are used to it you only have to do it 1-2 times a week.

  4. They're wonderful Cricketsmom!! I got mine at the grocery store, of all places. The brand name of mine is Sinu-cleanse. It came with the neti pot and several packets that you mix into water. I used 1/2 packet several times a week. But my best defense against my allergies this year seems to be Rhinocort, a nasal spray. What a difference it makes.

  6. That was a real good article AZDEBRA..I didn't realize the male/female trees, shrubs and bushes were a pollin factor. Why doesn't it surprise me that 100% of the allergy suffering is all coming from the male gender?! LOL! It looks like Ky is gonna be the worst this year. I wonder if KyKat has problems with allergies. Yikes! Oregon didn't look too bad...whew!

  7. I was also amazed at the type of foods they recommend staying away from so as not to antagonize the allergies even more!! Apples, carrots, pears, hazelnuts (this one I could see) Global warming is being directly related to what will be the worse year yet! It's all kinda scarey!

  8. I didn't realize about those foods and the male trees either, but it does make sense. I have used the Rhinocort but had to stop when I got nosebleeds, thats the only problem with some of those nasal meds, I have found that the Flonase is less likely for me to cause the bleeding. The Sinu-cleanse and other types of the Neti pots can be found at Walgreens, CVS, CostCo and those types of stores also.

  9. It's spring time sniffles and sneezes for most of you and here it's Autumn(Fall) sniffles and sneezes from colds. I had my Flu vaccination few days ago, hope it works this winter.

  10. Allergies have caused an extreme case of dry-eye for me. I finally had to go to the doctor to find out what to do. After several months of trying to find a way to get lubrication to my eyes, he finally suggested that I plug up one of two tear ducts in each eye and see if that kept tears on my eyes. Believe it or not, it has worked in just two days! He says that this condition is directly related to global warming. This frightened me a lot. What else is going to happen? Elizabeth
