Glass ceiling?? That implies that sexism is why a woman has never won the race before rather than the fact that there were never many women in racing to begin with, still aren't.
Why does it always have to be implied, or outright stated, that the reason something hasn't happened yet is because of racism or sexism

Maybe, just maybe because it is so? Attitudes take a LONG time to change in some areas so while you think equality is rampant around you (maybe too rampant for your liking) it is not the case.
How many male pre-school teachers are there? Not many - and that is the result of long-ingrained attitudes to men's roles.
Sexism and racism do exist but as a member of the majority it can be hard to see over the edge of your lofty perch.

Yes, so lofty that I am the only white male in my class which is predominantly female.
How bout the fact that the reason you don't see many men in pre-school teaching is because of how easy it is to be accused of child molestation and how difficult it is to prove your innocence once accused. And gee, who gets accused of child molestation the most - let me think - Oh wait... MEN.
But I am sure you could see that being so high up in your ivory tower.

It's a fact that men made it difficult to accept women in racing which was the direct deterrent to the absence of women in racing. Concerning the child molestation..*not sure how we got there* but you can't use that as an explanation for why men haven't gone into teaching pre-school because the facts show that the majority of all cases involve family members not school teachers. :) -
Can't have an ivory tower - glass ceiling gets in the way! :P

The majority may be in family, but there have been quite a few cases where MALE teacher have been accused of molestation.
Heck, even some airline have policies in place that say men are not allowed to sit next to un-acompanied minors for any reason, only female passengers may sit near them.
So there have always been a ton of women who have been saying "Gee, if I could only have the chance to race a car" and us evil men have been forcing them into the kitchen. Well, if that makes you all sleep better at night to blame us then who am I to dispel your illusions.
