  1. Aww, Tuttibella... Lucy Belle will do *anything* to make you happy, even drink the nasty tomato juice! What a lovable little girl you have on your hands!

  2. Good girl, Lucy Belle. Oh I am so relieved that she is doing so much better! ::doing a happy jig:::

  3. That girl is very sneaky! It is as if she didn't want me to know that she likes the juice. When I saw her sipping, I praised her and she ran away. Then later, I saw her circling her food mat area and always looking up at me. So, I pretended to move away and not watch what she's doing. And I use my camera's 10X zoom to capture that pic from far far away. LOL!

Overall, her condition has improved way beyond what the vet and I both expected. I am so happy for her.

  5. Oh, I can't see the photo...but I am sure that she's darling. What a good girl you have, she knows that you are trying to help her.
Have a happy day both of you.

  6. Lucy Belle isn't sneaky, she's just embarrassed. What self-respecting cat drinks tomato juice, after all?

You know, it's like when your kitty does something really clumsy or silly, then tries to look all innocent. "What, me trip? You must have been hallucinating.", or my favorite, "Sliding off the table was what I was trying to do."

  7. Woowee ... I got a postcard from the new vet's office thanking me for bring Lucy Belle there and hoping for her fast recovery.

The old vet called today but I wasn't home and my machine pick up his message. Um..very apologetic and said that he didn't know my girl wasn't well while he was away. I have yet to return the call though. Boo ...

Ok, I need to ask about a split nail. I was grooming her and saw that one of her nail has break apart. It's still sticking to the nail bed. She doesn't seems to mind when I touch it so I doubt it's painful.

What should I do? Will the nail drop off or should I snip it?

  8. Tuttibella, if the nail doesn't appear painful, I wouldn't do anything about it. A cat's claw naturally sheds the outermost layer; one can often see these shed nail bit lying around a well-used scratching post.

  9. Split or peeling like an onion? If it is peeling the scale should flake off with a little toe massage like you are checking to see if her claws need trimming.

  10. Agree with the above..leave it be...or better still kiss it all better! Hugs and purrs from us.

  11. It's split not in the middle but a little off center. Like her nail is broken in two. ??

  12. When we trim the claws on our cats they sometimes split along the sides of the claw, but it is only an outer layer being shed. I think Lucy Belle is fine as long as the pink root inside the claw is not exposed. That can be very painful and would likely bleed.
