  1. Arrrrrgh! I'm having one of THOSE days - nothing is going right!

Started last night - I went and worked out with the &^%^&%& trainer guy and then had to close the gym. At one point during the workout XBF came over and told *$%^#^^ trainer guy that he was having me do the wrong exercises because they hurt my achilles. Well, the did and I had stopped! XBF knows from hitting with me on the tennis court what hurts, but really - I can speak up for myself!I stayed to close and realized I had left my wallet at the office, so I couldn't go get coffee or something to eat. Instead of going straight home, I had to go by the office for the wallet, so I'd have it this morning to get coffee. Anyway, I didn't get home until ten and didn't get to bed until eleven.
Got up at 4:40 and went and opened the gym. XBF comes in and scolds me in front of a couple of people - one of whom I work directly under - about not eating. &*^&^* trainer guy had asked me the other day what I'm eating during the day and then went and told XBF that I'm just drinking 1-2 cups of coffee and eating a granola bar and some toast during the day. *$^#& trainer guy told me XBF got pissed off when he told him (don't know why he had to go tell him, anyway). If XBF can't mind him own business, that's one thing - but bringing it up in front of three other people like that is not cool!
Realized that I didn't have my phone with me! So,. instead of going to work right after the gym, I had to go home to get the phone. On the way there, my check engine light comes on! I get home and can't find the &^$*$ phone and figure I left it at the office. Get to the office and - no phone!!!
Boss calls and needs me to check something in the system - it's crashed! (much like our other system, which crashed yesterday, is still down, and no IT guy has bothered to call me back yet!)
And today is Administrative Professional's Day and Boss is away, has left me with a ton of cranky policy holders and forgotten all about AP day!

Waiting for XBF to come by with diagnostic tool to figure out what's going on with the car!
    Tired and sore from workouts!
Going to go work out with &$&%$ trainer guy from 5-6/6:30 and now have to close the gym again - and MISS GHOST HUNTERS!!!!!!!

    Like I said: ARRRRRGH!

  2. I'm exhausted just reading this! Poor GD, please pace yourself, must you work out every day, especially if you are still hurting? Sounds to me like you neede some extra snuggle time with the two furry boys at home. Hope you have a more pleasant day going forward.

Posted 3 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  3. OK, Char, time to get a grip! Take it easy, figure out what you can do to get back on track--breathe, smile, think of Bob and Milo, and just remember-we all love you!!

    Posted 3 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

  4. Sweetie, you have to step back and take a deep breath! You're going to drop over from exhaustion if you don't. You poor thing, keep thinking the good thoughts of your two loving sons. ((hugs)) Hope this day gets easier for you. Much love,

    HM

  5. Oh GD you poor thing..you don't have time to take a breath these days..I would try to forget about comments made by @#$@$ trainer and XBF and next time they ask you about what you ate, tell them you stopped eating all together because it seemed to upset them so much..and go about your day (and eat what you want).. this @#$$Trainer sounds like he thinks he has total control over you, and thinks that XBF should have some control too...Let them know you have done just fine running you life thus far, so you will continue to do so as you see fit...as far as the other things go, that a deep breath, and realize that next week, or next month, these will seem like much smaller things..ps. can you record Ghost Hunters??? and is Bob and Milo still coming over to watch with Blackbeard?

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  6. Thanks - I DO need a breather!
*%&%%% trainer guy wanted to work out three days in a row before he goes away on Thursday. People are starting to notice that I've been working out (even one of the other trainers at the gym said something last night!), and since I'm working out with the guy for free, we're sort of using me as advertising for his program, so I don't want to let him down. That's just me - can't say "no". The lady I work for was adjusting the schedule this morning and wanted to know how many nights I had been covering for the other guy and was surprised at how many hours I have been putting in and told me it's too much. So, I'm closing today and Friday and working 8-1 on Saturday, but then I promised her not to take any more nights next week even if the guy begs me, so that I can rest up a bit. Then she says I can take a night a week here and there if I want, but none of this opening and closing every day and going to work at the office in between. Sounds good to me.

She also mentioned again this morning about me quitting the job at the office and working at the gym full time. I would really like to do that, but they's have to pay me an extra $2.00 an hour to match what I'm making here and also I don't want to make a decision about that right now. We're very busy at the office and it takes a long time to train someone to do this. Summer is coming up and Boss won't be able to go away at all with a new person working here. Also, I want to work at the gym for another 1-2 months to make sure I'll still like it, before I seriously start thinking about it.

I did get to go home and hug the boys while searching in vain for my keys, so that helped a bit. Bobby sucked the blankie last night and Mi woke me up in the middle of the night when he wanted to be social and sleep next to me.

  7. Poor GD, haven't you scheduled any rest in your days? Mere reading about your day wears me out!

Doctor orders 8-hour sleeps PLUS quality cuddle time with your boys. :)

  8. The boys'll be there, 2b!
The thing with the eating is that when I get stressed and/or upset, I stop eating and XBF knows that. He also knows that he's a major part of the reason for the upset right now, so he's probably feeling guilty. He shows up at the gym with trailmix, granola bars, apples etc for me.
I like the thought of telling XBF I've stopped eating all together because of everything, but I KNOW he'd threaten to cut my job at the gym if I can't eat and stay healthy. He doesn't want for me to completely exhaust myself and get sick.
I wouldn't say &%&%^$% trainer guy has control over me, but maybe in a way, he does. The thing is that I really want to do these workouts and there's no way I could afford to pay someone to train me. So I feel like I owe him for taking the time to train me - and even drive me to and from in the beginning when I didn't have a car. I feel like I have to give 100% at every workout, never complain about being tired, sore or whatever and always show up when he want to work out.
I'm hoping to catch a breath this weekend after working Saturday. I have two houses of dog-sitting, but as long as the car co-operates (fingers crossed!) that's not too bad! Next week should be better.
Also, I'm playing my tennis match tomorrow and looking forward to a few hrs. out on the court with friends, a nice lunch and some time away from everything else. Yay!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  9. Miu - if I have to get 8 hrs. of sleep, I have to go to bed at 8:30!!!!!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  10. Enjoy your tennis match and please try to get some rest..I'll send the boys back home after the show...do they like greenies??

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  11. They LOVE Greenies, 2b!
The earliest I'll get home tonight is 9:30, in bed by ten and then up at 4:40-4:45.
I'm actually thinking about trying to take a little nap at the office today - with both systems down, there's not much I can do, anyway! Should have brought my pillow and blankie!

  12. GD, just your describing your schedule is wearing me out! I hope when you are working out you are not doing weights every day. They say your muscles need a break so every other or every two days is okay. I am sure you know what is best for you but you have all of us concerned that you do not have enough "me" time. No wonder XBF is upset at you for not eating. It isn't healthy and you could do some harm to your body. I know what you mean about it is hard saying the word no to people but you need to do it to take care of you. Also, I understand your wanting to work lots of hours to pay off your brother as fast as possible but I think your brother would prefer your not running yourself ragged just to pay off the loan. Hugs to you and the boys.

Yes it is Administrative Professional's Day but it has been my experience that most bosses do not have a clue that it is even on the calendar. I haven't had the experience of receiving any recognition on this auspicious day. So here is to all the Admins out there who work hard without any recognition.

Posted 3 years ago by SylvesterMiasMomma #

  13. GD, I just thought of something that I hope will make you feel better. This am my husband realized that it was Administrative Professional's day...well, guess who usually takes care of that? He's so busy, that I'm always left to "save the day" at the 11th hour. He really appreciates her, it's just that he's a guy. No excuses, but that's just the way it is. Well, I told him to write a nice note and that I will get a lovely gift that he can take in tomorrow.
Hopefully your boss is just as absent minded and will recognize your shortly.

  14. GD, did you ever find your phone? Oh and EAT SOMETHING!

I baked my AP homemade cookies in celebration of the great job she does.

    Posted 3 years ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  15. Nope, the phone is MIA! And I just ate a turkey sub!
TL, Boss did do stuff for me last year - a few days late, but still!

As for the workout at the gym, Monday we did strength training, yesterday was footwork and conditioning and today is something else - I forgot. So, the &%&*$#^ trainer guy is splitting it up so I have time to recover. He also mixed some sort of powdery concoction into my water yesterday which is supposed to speed up recovery. It was very weird - it made my skin sort of itch all over - or maybe not itch, but sort of felt like I was being pricked by needles all over - strange sensation - I'll have to mention that to him.

KArin, I really hate owing people money, but you're right - my brother can wait a bit. I hope this check engine light isn't something serious - and costly! :(

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  16. Hrmph, Boss never baked me cookies!!!!!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  17. AP day ... boss won't notice. Birthday came and went without notice. AP is not my official title, so I guess I don't 'qualify'... officially.

GC - YES, Tell trainer guy! Sounds like an allergic reaction to whatever was in the powder. Eating better and regularly will also help with weight loss (if that is your goal) and the building of muscle. The body needs fuel. If you stop eating, or don't eat enought, the body will go into survival mode.. it thinks you're starving.

A light breakfast for me - if there is anything left - and a cup of Chai tea.

Posted 3 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  18. GD...In purchasing your truck, didn't it at least come with a limited warranty? You should be able to have it looked at,unless you bought it from a private seller.

BTW......Don't WORK yourself to death!!! We don't want to see you sick!

Posted 3 years ago by feral #

  19. We saved breakfast and Chai tea for you, 2p!

I know I've got to eat more, I'm just so tired. I don't feel like eating when I get up that early or when I get home after 9:30 at night - I just want to go to bed.

As for the powder stuff, I thought maybe it was some sort of allergic reaction, because I'd never felt anything like that before and it happened 10-15 after I started drinking the stuff, and went away maybe 20 minutes or so after I finished the bottle. I also thought this may be part of the fast recovery - it sure seemed to be doing something! &%$^*$% trainer guy had left, or I would have asked him about it. I'll bring it up tonight.

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  20. Thanks, Susie - I'd say you know what working hard and wearing yourself out feels like!!!!
The car came from a dealer with a 30 day money back guarantee. So I'll find out what's wrong with it and hopefully be able to afford to get it fixed. If it's something major that will cost a fortune, I'll have to take it back there to get my money back. Don't want to do that, as I really like the car and also just can't find time for car shopping.

  21. GD, could it be creatine that he gave you? Also, check out Ensure or something like that that you can drink fast. Cold, full of protein and nutrients. I find that in the morning I can choke that down, I never feel like eating in the morning, always feel sick to my stomach so I always used to skip breakfast. But this I can tolerate.

Posted 3 years ago by paulajeanne #

  22. Hmmmmm, I should try that, PJ - I have absolutely no appetite in the morning!

I doubt it was creatine - it turned the water red - wouldn't creatine be clear? And with that you have to take it every day or something, right? (not that I'd want to do that - and if I discovered that's what he gave me, without letting me know, I'd be pissed!). He gave me this because I was sore and out of energy - said it's supposed to speed up the recovery?

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  23. GD - thanks for the breakfast. Just what I needed. Do slow down a bit.. for your own good. We all worry. :)

Posted 3 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  24. Not to be an alarmist but I would find out what it is and not take things like that without knowing the consequences! He should have told you what it is. Also don't mean to be making a joke about this but with all the media reports of what trainers did or did not give to their people, like steroids! please be careful! You must trust him a lot which is good but still!

Posted 3 years ago by paulajeanne #

  25. Funny you should mention it, PJ! Last night, one of the trainers came up and asked me to turn off the music so he could hear the tv. There was an interview with the baseball player Miguel Tejeda. Turned out this trainer had trained him in the off season last year and had then been approached by the people doing this story about the steroid usage. The trainer told them no. As he watched the interview there last night, M.J. called him very upset about the whole thing.
Anyway, I figured if he gave me something once to help out, okay, but then when I started asking him what it was, he wouldn't tell me the name of it, just what it was for. I'm trying to get healthy here, that's the main goal, and putting steroids, creatine or some such stuff into my body on a regular basis, in my opinion, may make my muscles bigger or whatever, but it won't be good for my health in the long run.

2p - I'll slow down. I was actually going to take a nap, but since I'm exhausted I'd have to set my alarm on my MIA cell phone to wake me up, so that won't work. No nap for me! I thought of a diet coke but I'm a little stressed out today and eventhough I'm tired, caffeine is the last thing I need right now.

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. Hey GD..If you want to take a nap..email me your office number at 2bpurring at gmail dot com and I'll call you at whatever time you'd like!!! I'd rather see you get some rest than worry about MIA phone...

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  27. GD, I wouldn't take anything from trainer especially if he won't tell you what he is giving you. That kind of gives me the creeps even if he is a friend and all. Hope you are able to fix the check engine light. It could mean a valve is loose or something like that. The person who sold you the car should fix it at no cost to you since they gave you a 30 day or your money back guarantee. Hope it all works out.

Posted 3 years ago by SylvesterMiasMomma #

  28. XBF mentioned loose valves as well - I really hope it's something like that. He seems to think it's okay, but I don't want to be stranded somewhere, I want to find out what it is and get it fixed. Wonder if Maroone would fix it....hmmmmm...
Karin, I was getting a bit annoyed when trainer guy wouldn't tell me what it was. I was working the front desk and chatting with some of the others, when he came up and asked to get my waterbottle. I was distracted (seems always to be the case these days!) and just gave it to him - when he brought it back it was red! I asked him twice what it was and never got an answer other than "just something that'll speed up your recovery" so that got me annoyed. And then he left and I started feeling funny and I got really annoyed! I thought maybe I was meant to feel like that and just finished the bottle. Hmmmmm, not that brilliant, I know!
I'm walking around in a fog these days. This morning on my way to work, I took a look at the speedometer, and I was going 32 in a 45 zone! Arrrrgh - I need to wake up!
Just found some peppermint tee I'll try - it's supposed to be "a minty invigorating aroma and blissfully rich taste that's both relaxing and refreshing"! Hmmmmm, sounds odd to me - invigorating AND relaxing? I'll have to try that!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. Awwwww, that sounds so good, 2b, but now I think XBF is going to show up anytime to look at the car, so I'll have to try a nap tomorrrow. He wasn't sure exactly when he was coming, because he was picking his parents up and renting them a car and setting them up in a hotel. Hmmmmm, who, in a 4 bedroom house, puts their parents in a hotel? Weird!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  30. Someone who doesn't want mommy and daddy to know what goes on in said house!
