I don't remember seeing a post that she was going on vacation. She posts from work. I hope she isn't sick. Does anyone have a phone number so they can call her.

She hasn't posted since the bruhaha over the animal abuse site which was deleted. I hope she didn't give up over that-I love all the sites she posts-it's the easiest way to keep up on so much of animal news.

bcg, Dee posted a news article about animal abuse and it offended some tdk'ers so KM pulled the article. It ruffled some feathers about content and sensibilities. Some words were shared.

There have been many articles about abuse, and did their feathers get ruffled about that? I know there were a few articles I didn't read, since they were a little graphic (weak stomach), but I didn't complain. I think she should be able to post those articles, since we all care about animals.

I for one believe that animal abuse is animal abuse no matter what manner or form it takes. I know it's terrible thing to read, and I can't always look at the pictures myself..but I don't believe that we should close our eyes..and if we can help change things in any way, by signing petitions, sending emails or letters I feel we should..After all isn't it our love of animals that brought us all here???

Nope, she won't be coming back. I met and became friends with Dee when this site was in its infancy. When she started posting news stories and recipes the site became more lively and the conversation more stimulating. Then the growing TDK took another leap -- branching into chat rooms where Dee's "News" had a room of its own and Recipes did, too.
Unfortunately, I think, all posted items could be viewed under General Chat (no doors on the chat rooms) and those that didn't want the "News" somehow felt compelled to click on links with warnings about "unfluffy" content and then were surprised when "delicate sensibilities" were offended. But that is "old news."
I am not posting this to be contentious -- there has been enough back and forth. And while I like to cause a little trouble from time to time -- stir the pot, if you will -- Dee has never, EVER, posted anything hurtful to anyone on this site. Words are powerful things -- we use them as fun little tools to spin fantasy; swords to destroy our enemies; pleas to garner sympathy; chalkboards to instruct and inform; roses to woo and diamonds to impress...but sometimes they become bigger than was our intent and swiftly boomerang to bring us to our knees. What is uttered cannot be undone or brought back...and so it is with Dee who has left the TDK.

I just wanted to say that I personally miss Dee dearly. Thanks to her curious news I had the most interesting conversations in all the office and everybody wondered where I found out about all those odd news.
She was always so sweet and understood my spanish personallity perfectly as the spanish grand daughter that she is!
I have done tons of the recipes she posted...Come on Dee, there are many more here that appreciate and miss you then those who don't. Come back... a very famous American said "You can't please all the people all the time".
If you come back I will give you the recipe of the 'magdalenas' wonderful Spanish fairy cakes for breakfast!

I miss Dee also. I feel that she was always very cautious about alerts under postings and being such a softie myself , I just opted not to read some and enjoy others.

Thank you 2bpurring... I really think that she should know that if she came we would all act like if nothing had happened. No awkward situations... just her friends... She didn't do anything wrong or hurt anyone on purpose...
I don't like all this "she will be missed"... I'm not giving up on Dee...

I am certain that Dee needs time for reflection. That she left without a dramatic announcement speaks to her class. If she chooses to return I will welcome her presence.
It is very intimidating to stand on the edge where you may be cut off by your position. But it is sad when one can no longer face the potential of being stifled. Voices that make us uncomfortable need to be heard if only briefly.
Personally, I miss the reports even though I rarely made comments to the more discomforting issues.

Please Dee, come back. As someone said above, I appreciated all the articles you found, even the controversial ones. I'm so sorry you were upset. Always felt you gave adequate warnings so readers could choose what or what not to look at. Please reconsider.

I was not on-line the day that everything blew up, I only saw the references to the original thread. Dee is a responsible poster and the fact that she uses links and not text keeps anyone from being ambused. She always gave warnings.
CR I think you have my email address. Please forward to Dee and let her know that I would love to keep in touch and chat via email any time she wants. As an old timer here, I don't want to lose her out of my world. I still want to get to Tampa and hang out!
