  1. Well back home again, attempted going to work but started coughing so much while trying to drive that I had to pull over so I wouldn't hurt anyone by driving into them. I absolutely hate this damned cough and subsequent hard, labored breathing....sorry about the unfluffy language. Guess I will wait until the breathing is easier then lie down since it exhausts me afterwards.

KW glad that you got to a real peach margarita, I usually get the virgin ones (any flavor) mostly because I can't drive after even one drink....would be hard pressed to keep telling my grown children not to do it, especially if I got a DWI or DUI...so friends call me a cheap date, if only they knew at one time I would have drank them under a table of their choice with shots of tequila or tekillya..lol.

    ok maybe I am invisible....

  2. Deb, is it allergies that give you so much trouble? I worry about those of you that just can't seem to shake what's bugging them. It seems to me as if you haven't been feeling well all winter.

  3. In order to sleep at night if you have a cough, rub Vick's Vapour Rub into the soles of your feet and then put socks on. It sounds bizarre, but it actually works. It work best on children, but it works on adults too.

  4. Sorry you had a coughing attack, Deb. You did the right thing by pulling over until it passed and then going back home.

I'm a cheap date too. I got the "small" margarita. Hubby got the "medium." If I'd had the medium size, I would have passed out face first in my dinner plate! The waiter told us that the "large" margarita looks like a swimming pool. LOL

I've not heard of putting Vick's Vapour Rub on the soles of the feet, PM. Wouldn't that be great if it worked for Deb?! I'll try that next time I have a cold. :)

  5. Apparently the soles of the feet allow quickest absorption into your system. If you rub garlic onto the soles of your feet you can smell it on your breath in seconds!

  6. I'm not sure I see an advantage to rubbing garlic on the soles of your feet! Maybe to fend off vampires? :D

  7. A good way of repelling unwanted BFs!

  8. LOL

  9. When you do the Vick's thing you must remember to put socks on, it doesn't work properly otherwise. The Vick just gets all over your sheets - yuck.

  10. Got it!

  11. Pollys_Mum, yep have already tried the Vick's on the feet w/socks, used to do that with the kids when they were little since they hated it on their chest with a passion.

KW, thanks, I pull over because I really don't want to be responsible for hurting/killing someone because I couldn't control my body due to coughing so flipping hard.

The cough is believed to be some form of asthma that only has a cough, since my lungs are absolutely clear as glass. Even the perle tablets (benzonatate) taken 3-4 times a day don't help much, codeine with or without tylenol helps even less, inhalers make the fits even worse (I do the basic knocked to your knees coughing fits then)...the cough produces nothing but stealing air that I should be using to breathe, you know one of those funny life requirements! I am just frustrated with the whole thing, and exhausted most of the time but try really hard not to whine because I really don't like to do that...sigh.

  12. AZDEB
Try zyrtec It's an allergy medication(Now sold over the counter it's a bit $) My asthmatic son started on them 2 years ago, I swear by it he hasn't had a severe attack since he's been on it!

  13. Deb, I missed you last night in the NS office. Don't let that cough get your spirits down, just snuggle up with the crew for extra loving when you feel you need it.

  14. Dorie, I have been taking zyrtec for the last 2-3 years, use flonase daily, over the counter when the allergies are really bad, panatol drops for my eyes, I am just a mess...even on singulair for the allergies.

  15. Janet, I do cuddle with them, usually with one or more on my lap when I end up sleeping in the chair. I missed being on last night too, how has your weekend went? Did you get all the wood stacked for the winter?

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  16. OK have you tried natural things like Honey from your area not from the store from a fruit stand in your area that has bee hives! This works for several of my friends they take a spoonful a day and there allergies are non existant!

  17. Yes Deb, we got all the wood stacked away under the house and I'll be really pi**ed off if the vibrations from the machinery knocks it over. Also got the lawns all mowed and gardens weeded and more vegetables planted. We interrupted Shadz in her mousing endeavours, she was perched in the fork of the plum tree looking below her and ready to 'drop in' on any mouse that came out to feed. Today it is raining and dull but not cold so we are being very lazy, Mr MS is watching a video "The Mothman Prophecies" and Shadz has gone hunting again.

  18. yep have tried that too, went to the farmer's market and bought some local honey. Back to using the neti pot to flush out the sinus passages everyday for the next couple of weeks and then cutting back to a couple times a week.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  19. Very industrious of you both, and poor Shadz, being interrupted whilst hunting but I am quite sure that she will prevail tonight. Let me know how he likes that movie, didn't know if I wanted to watch it or not. Its rather warm here, not hot yet, only in the high 80's so far but definately warm. When are the workers supposed to be done vibrating the house off the foundations?

  20. Sorry hope you feel better!!

Posted 3 years ago by 4 kits staff #

  21. Dorie, thanks, looking at the bright side, it isn't 24/7 like it was a few months ago! How is your son's asthma doing?

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  22. Knocking wood he's doing OK! His bad season is the fall! He gets some sinus problems this time of year but not that bad! This year I'm having the problems I have sinusitis and an ear infection went to the Doctor yesterday after being up all night with an ear ache!

Posted 3 years ago by 4 kits staff #

  23. That is good that he is doing well. Have you tried the neti pot method for dealing with the sinusitis and/or allergies?

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  24. KK gave me the book to read several years ago and then I found the video in a bargain bin so I got it, it's entertaining but the book is quite scary. It's 16.5C (61.7F) here. We have no idea when the earthworks will be finished but I may have to complain to the local council about the vibrations because it looks like that is what is causing the problems with the phone lines. We had 2 butterflies hatch out 2 days ago and 1 tiny butterfly this morning, will wait for the weather to improve before letting it outside, one raindrop could kill it it's so small. Have 3 more outside to hatch and 11 inside, with 2 probably hatching tomorrow judging by their colour. Star Trek is on now so I will join hubby and relive our teenage years(blushes). Bye for now and keep looking after yourself Debra.
