  2. KW..have you ever had a pet rat? They're very wonderful pets. Clean, intelligent, affectionate and loyal. I had two sistermates and only wish the life expectancy for these great pets could go beyond the 3 yr. life expectancy. I loved my little Pistol & P.K (pocket knife)and have great memories of our adventures together. Anyone who's thinking of adopting a pet Rat...really should..they wouldn't be disappointed.

  3. I had pet rats when I was younger and we lived in central africa - I traded marbles with the boy next door for my first four!! They were excellent pets.

  4. I have heard that they are wonderful pets. In fact, there are online communities just like TDK for rat lovers.

  5. I have never had a rat for a pet but I have known people who have. I always went nuts wanting to hold the cute little rats whenever I would visit them. I don't like the thought of having a rat myself though because my cats would see the poor thing as a furry little toy. Like some of those pictures of a poor little rat or hamster in a cage with cats just staring in at the poor thing.

  6. OW I have had cats (who were proven hunters) and rats together as a teenager and it wasnt a problem at all. The pet ones didn't act like prey so they got left alone (now the gerbals were another matter...)
