  1. Hi guys-just learned this morning that my company, KPMG Trust Tax, lost their biggest client, which accounts for 80% of this office's business. Don't know yet what the plan is, going into a meeting in a few minutes.

  16. Yes, we are part of KPMG, a division of them. Price Waterhouse Cooper won the engagement, which is bigger than all of their engagements combined. We had our meeting and will wait to see their plans--best case scenario is them hiring our people and keeping this office. I don't work on the engagement in question but if PWC doesn't want this office KPMG will move our engagements to one of the other Trust Tax offices--San Francisco or Providence, RI. So right now we have to sit tight to see what they offer, but my resume is already updated!

  19. PWC is a company I once applied to. I found out that they didn't want to pay their Executive Assistants what they are worth but actually started the pay at $45k a year. Extremely low rate for such high level assistants.

I hope everything turns out for you Sheba's Mom. How long were you with KPMG and what do you do there? I hope Human Resources will help you all out if necessary. Any severance packages available yet? I bet all the employment agencies in your area will start calling soon once they get wind of this.

  22. I've been here since 10/06 as a tax associate, doing 1099's for a NY trust tax engagement and a PA engagement. I've also done 1040's this tax year also.
