I am feeling really blue today. My 91 yr old Mom is back in the hospital--probable bowel obstruction. I'm worried that she is so weak she may not do well with the surgery. Don't think I am up to another loss. Dad is gone died 2 weeks ago,and though I don't mourn him I do mourn the father I should have had and did not. My son Kyle left to move to Tennessee today, post-polio now has me in bed 90% of the time, and my best friend, Lora (a 17 year friendship) is moving away so I won't see her any more! Too much too soon all at once....now worried about Mom...and Redford is ok but obviously showing his age and I know he has not much time left either. Sometimes, life just isn't fair. Okay, done complaining -- back to Dark Shadows and vampires---fantasy is a good escape.

Rainingwolf, so sorry to hear of the complicated situation in your life. I am sorry for the loss of your father and the illness that has struck your mother. I understand. Life is not fair, it never is. I know you have health issues and your son is now leaving along with your best friend. You have us and we will get you through these tough times. Please don't bottle up your feelings and emotions. You need to let them out and if here is where you do, feel free. I am with you in prayer and thoughts. Stay well, dear lady, know that I am thinking of you. Hugs and Purrs, and love, Lynn

Yes Rainingwolf!!! Vent away. Getting the words down on paper helps sooo much, too.
I have a document on my pc named 'My Story' and it is funny how I once get out all these thoughts out of my body it helps me. It is like a purging.
I am very sorry for what you are going through. Makes my day from hell yesterday just nothing. Purrs and headbonks from my kits Sammy & Oliver.

RW, I am so sorry about what is going on right now with your family, and about Lora. She has been a very stable element in your life. And with Kyle leaving and your mother ailing, and the post-polio flaring up, this really is a Time of the Troubles, as we Irish would say.
Please keep posting to this forum and please know that we all are praying for you and wishing you well. Going through tough times when your health is not good -- what a rotten combination. But you will rise above it, because, sweetie, you are a helluva lot tougher than you think.
It is amazing what we can go through and still grow and smile and pray and keep growing and going. Please let us help you, and we will all pray with you and for you, my friend.
You are very dear to everyone here!

That's a lot to deal with, RW, no wonder you're blue. Good positive thoughts to you, lots of cyberhugs and headbonks from Shaddo to Redford.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. They mean so much. This is such an amazing group! My mom is home-she told the docs she was refusing the surgery-that at her age she didn't see the point. It makes me fear for her, but I respect her decision. She is on a special diet plus medication, so hopefully it will work and make her more comfortable. As for the other things, I am working on acceptance. There is much to the Serenity Prayer & accepting what cannot be changed.

Sweetheart, it's easy to understand how your mother feels about this. After my darling passed away from cancer, I decided that if I ever get it, my protocol will include one round of surgery, one round of radiation, and one round of chemo. And that's it.
I will not live in fear but in joy for the years and friends and good times I've had, and I will simply trust in the Lord. The quality of life should not be diminished simply for the sake of its length.
And please know you are in all our prayers. They never end.

RW, You and your family are in my prayers. I recently went through a similar thing with my grandma not being strong enough to handle another surgery, but with proper diet and medications, she recovered, and is doing better now-still in assisted living though :(. Hopefully the diet and meds will help your mother greatly! :) Hugs to you, and keep us posted... feel free to vent again if you need to!

Rainingwolf, I very sorry for all that you are going through. It seems life isn't fair at times and I recall when I said that to my Mom once, I got back the "no one said it would be fair". We all go through trials and tribulations but you seem to have a very full plate. Please feel free to vent when you need to. We all need to do it from time to time. Sending you healing white light, prayers and purrs.
